I didn't see a single logical spot for the referee to stop it.

It's pretty difficult to find a good stopping point in a fight where no one punch has the guy in trouble. ESPECIALLY if the fighter who is getting his ass kicked is a murderous puncher as Lacy was feared to be.

Wasn't Herol Graham doing to Julian Jackson what Calzaghe did to Lacy up until the point of Jackson killing him with one shot?
Lacy was hurt multiple times in the fight and it should have been stopped.

The doctors at ringside gave Jackson one more round to do something to Graham, if he didn't, they were going to stop the fight. The rest is history.

Does anyone else think they couldn't have picked a worse lead sparring partner for Lacy for this fight?

Does anyone see a single similarity between Joe Calzaghe and Winky Wright? I would be willing to bet that the majority of orthodox fighters would be better warm-ups for Calzaghe than Wright was.

Lacy was hurt momentarily multiple times. How the **** do you stop it when the guy recovers almost instantly? Really, was there ever a time when Lacy was actually in danger of getting knocked out? I didn't see it.

The bell saved him a few times, and when a fighter is hurt multiple times, even if it was momentary, warrants a stoppage, especially when a fighter is taking so many punches to the head, I always thought Lacy was lucky he wasn't seriously hurt.

That is not the point. Knockout introuble wobbled. it doesn't matter. Jeff was getting a onesided ass whooping that he didn't need. The fight should have been stopped.

Because it wasn't, he is nolonger a viable fighter.

The refs primare function is to protect the health of the fighters. Lacy needed protection, the ref failed. His corner fail. As a result, Lacy is now a diminished fighter. Barely beating Peter Manfredo jr. Who he would have destroyed before the Calzaghe fight,

Seems pretty unfair to the referee, considering you are making him predict the future.

Don't you remember that more than a few people on here bitched about the stoppage in Pavlik-Taylor I?

Can you imagine how much bitching there would be if Calzaghe-Lacy were stopped at any point by the referee?

I think the doctor was the only person who could have justifiably stopped this fight outside of Lacy's corner.

The corner wouldn't step in, the doctor wouldn't step in. It was the refs job to step in and save Lacy further punishment. The fight was effectively over when Joe put Jeff out on his feet in the 7th.
