Total bull**** stoppage. People have overdramatized Taylor's condition for years now. Chavez wasn't in a neutral corner and Taylor wouldn't have been hit again. If you think Steele is so worried about the fighters, take a look at the first Hearns-Barkley fight. Hearns was in much worse shape and he was allowed to continue. Steele was all about protecting the house fighter, Julio Cesar Chavez.

Hearns hadn't taken the punishment Taylor had and Taylor didn't answer Steele. Taylor had to go to the hospital after the fight because he was peeing blood and had fractured bones in his face, I wouldn't call that over dramatizing.

When is it ever normal to piss blood. I never did, but I never took a beating like that either. I wonder if Scully ever pissed blood after a fight..............Rockin'

Well chavez proberly would not of even reached taylor if he hadnet of waved it off which is a dam shame but taylor has his self to blame for the way he fought.
If he had chilled out in the 12th then he would of won but he decided to go all out like the fighter he is.
Great fighter but should of thought about himself a bit more then the fans sometimes fighters have to do that a gd example is mayweather who is defensive fighter who likes to protect himself at all times instead of waring for the fans.
Imo bad stoppage because there was 3 seconds left the red flashing light was right next to him but steele didnt notice it which is another error.
3 seconds.... chavez cant move across the ring to taylor in 3 seconds he aint superman lmao he wudnet of touched him.
But i see where steele was coming from he felt sorry for him because taylor was beat up ooh well.
P.S Rockin stop putting rockin at the end of everything its annoying lol

Duva was the one who told Taylor to go out there and fight Chavez. Maybe if he had told Taylor to box instead, Taylor would have won the fight.

1 punch and things could turn tragic. A referee in deciding if a fighter can continue should not even consider how much time might be left. Either the fighter is good or hes not............Rockin'

there is no excuse for Steele stopping this fight it was a bad error in Judgement i aint questioning Steeles integrity but i do question his decision making at the time it was a terrible stoppage
Agree completely, I like Richard Steele as a ref but that was a horrible call. The ref has to have situational awareness.
