Cotto's 2nd Biggest Win?

It would be easy to pick Judah, but I'm going with Ricardo Torres. With Zab, you know what you're getting, a POTENTIALLY dangerous fighter who didn't do much but land a couple of well timed uppercuts that couldn't knock Cotto off his feet. Zab is a joke now and a win over him these days doesn't even show up on the significant win stat before big fighters square off. Now looking what Torres has done since then, he is a defending 140 lb. champ and one of the top 4 jr. welters in the world. Looks a lot more impressive now, rather than somebody who was undisputed for a couple of months. Well you know what, so was Buster Douglas.Comment

What's funny is the amount of people who wrote Cotto off in that fight. They were saying that Zab is back, and he's too fast for Cotto. They also said the same thing about Shane. Those are the same guys that are discrediting him for those wins now.Comment

It is a public poll. If you click on one of the numbers of votes, it will go to a new screen with everyone who voted listed underneath each option.
By the way, Floyd has officially been down once against Carlos Hernandez, when he ****ed his hand up badly landing a left hook on the top of his head.
His glove did sc**** against Judah, and it should have been called a knockdown. Potentially the least hurt anyone has ever been when knocked down though... not a huge punch landed by Judah for that uncalled knockdown. Floyd was jumping in Ricky Hatton style and got caught with a very light punch that knocked him off balance.
Cotto was hurt bad against Torres, but Torres did push his ass down.
If you all want to talk about a comparative advantage for Floyd against Cotto, you could talk about how many rounds have been scored 10-8 without a knockdown for Floyd, which is 0, and how many for Cotto... Ricardo Torres got a 10-8 round from Harold Lederman in the 5th round against Cotto because he beat his ass all up and down the ring.
How much of what is typed above would matter if they fought? Probably none of it. Cotto isn't as fast as Zab, and Floyd doesn't punch as hard as Torres, so who cares?Comment

Azza, why did you vote for Chop Chop?
Is it because of how badly he was hurt against an underrated fighter, and still came back to win in an impressive fashion?
I think Corley is a hell of a lot better than anyone gives him credit for.Comment

But I agree, even though the Cotto knock down vs. the Floyd Knock down were incorrect, the result would not have changed in either fight.
Also Cotto was hurt by Torres, where as Floyd was not hurt by the punch from Judah.
At the end of the day even though both calls might have been incorrect, it really had no matter in the situation.Comment
