The fact that he is willing to take the fight against Thompson, who is clearly an easier opponent than Povetkin, makes me wonder about his motives.
Wlad will beat either of these guys ver y easy. Youre ******ed if you think povetkin has a chance to win.

Thompson is easier for Wlad? No way.

Thompson is a tall lefty with decent skills and decent power. Nothing killer but still can cause some problems.

Povetkin, imo, is a much easier fight for Wlad, he is small, open and will come right at Wlad.

Povetkin has an excellent chance to win if he learns how to move his head.

Klitschko doesn't like being attacked and Povetkin has an attacking style. What Povetkin lacks is lateral head movement. If Povetkin learns how to move his head you can say good bye to Klitschko.

I agree. Wlad said right after the Ibragimov fight he was ready to fight again. They could have scheduled Thompson for late May, and Povetkin for August, then it would fall within the 180 days...

But for some reason, they have to take an unnecessarily long time to prepare for a fight.

                *Thinks back to Brewster fight*

Nope, Povetkin is too bleak technically to cause Wlad any problems. And I doubt he packs as much punch as Brewster or is as durable.

And he ain't gonna slip ****, he got the wide hole for the right hand when he throws his combos.

I agree, Povetkin isn't anywhere near ready for this stepup. Povetkin was stunned by Eddie Chambers' right hand, what happens when Wladimir lands on him?

It seems like an attempt to grab a belt without actually fighting wlad..

Your analysis Povetkin, as we saw him against Chambers, may well be correct, but Klitschko is not the right man to exploit these flaws. Unlike George Foreman, Klitschko does not stand his ground and fight. When you go straight in on him Klitschko's first instinct is to pull straight back, typical European style. Look how cautious Klitschko was against Ibragimov and he wasn't doing much. Povetkin has a much higer work rate. In any case, if Povetkin learns to move his head, Klitschko will then have a very serious problem to solve and history has shown that he is not good at dealing with problems.
