Whitaker wouldn't have gotten hit, etc.
I understand what you're saying, but when and what did Mayweather get hit with in the Gatti massacre?

I know, I agree. Mayweather didn't get hit (not with anything noteworthy anyway), and neither would Whitaker. Some are acting like nobody could have done what Mayweather did that night.

I can't believe ppl are actually voting pryor. he beat one good fighter his whole career and that was Arguello. he is very overrated and in no way does he beat mayweather, whitaker, de la hoya, mosley or even cotto. I don't get his deal cuz he should've fought better opponents but he didn't so I can't back him.

Both of yall are trippin I don't see a problem with PBF leading. I don't care what the era is from 130-147 PBF would give anybody a great fight. I don't see a fighter just blowing PBF out. I am not saying he would go undefeated but I can't see anybody just totally dominating him. Its not like those people are picking a ****ing bum.

I hear you, most people based Pryor's whole career off those 2 fights & they prob don't realize Arguello started his career at 126lb & moved thru the ranks... but I've seen enough of Pryor to know he was the REAL DEAL & if given a shot there is no telling what he could've done! He could box & slug & would adjust on the "drop of a dime" Cotto? C'mon! I'ma Cotto fan but if Chop-Chop & Torres can have him on "***** street" then Pryor would send his ass to "retirement lane".
I think he would have got Mosley too, Shane was very quick & powerful in his hey-day but he ALWAYS made fundamental errors (not moving his head, loading up for the big right hand, standing in one spot, lack of mental toughness/ discouragement), I think Pryor could exploit these weakeness & get the nod in this one...

Its somewhere between sweat pea, floyd, and pryor...

those are obviously the 3 front runners but its hard to eliminate those 3.

i think those 3 would have a good chance of beating each other...

and i know some believe de la hoya is one of them but he's not...not at 140...his real reign was at 147.

Prime Whitaker beats all of them, Mayweather and Pryor are the only one on that list that is actually debatable. But i would still favor Whitaker over them. The only person to actually beat Whitaker was Trinidad and he was far past his prime when he did it. Prime Whitaker was never defeated in my book. I though that he beat both Ramirez and De La Hoya.

In some ways I agree with you...people seem to forget that Arguello himself was on his what...4th weight class? Off the top of my head, I cant think of a single fighter who was at his best in his 4th weight class title challenge, maybe De La Hoya but even thats debatable.

but youre wrong...Pryor did have other good wins. I consider his #1 win Cervantes actually, not Arguello. He blasted away Cervantes, an incredible fighter, while he sure as hell didnt have an easy time with Arguello in the first fight.

I think Pryor left himself too open, and pretty big punchers+guys that could deal with the punishment he gave out could make him pay. Thats why I think guys like Chavez and De La Hoya would have a great chance to beat him.

but Pryor's had crazy stamina, punching power and tons of pressure....thats undenyable. thats why in my opinion guys like Tszyu would fold under him, guys like Whitaker would simply get outworked by him(Whitaker didnt have an incredibly easy fight against Nelson, and he was much smaller than Pryor, and Whitkaer didnt have the firepower to really keep PRyor off/put a dent in his offense) and guys with shaky chins at 140 like Cotto would simply get knocked out.

lol Tszyu would finish the Hawk my ass.

Even if he floored him five times, Pryor would still get up and pull a Vince Phillips on him late in the fight. Almost like clockwork.

As hard a puncher he was, he still couldn't keep Pryor down.
