Now he says it will work with Joe...maybe he beats Joe, I dont know....but anybody who actully thinks he beats him for the reasons he stated is not realistic. Growing up in poverty, tough, drugs, prison etc, means VERY little in the boxing ring on fight night. When you get drilled with a spearing body shot to your gut that you arent prepared for, the fact that you have been stabbed. have robbed peoe and have had prison yard fights wont help SQUAT. Do u have any idea how many guys like Hopkins I have seen quit, get KO'd, get dropped etc etc? Many, trust me

    yeah bitter....

HOPKINS uses his experience in life as motivation..he has said this TIME and TIME again..motivation to stay near his exact weight between fights and to be more then 100% dedicated to the sport.

boxing is 75% MENTAL..try and tell me it isnt... he is VERY mentaly STRONG AND "HE" attributes that to being in prison, being stabbed mutiple times..

who are YOU...to say it has nothing to do with his success?

he has also mentioned his resume and Joe's.. and he NEVER said " Im ******, went to prison, there fore Joey C cant beat me "..

like I said you sound bitter. maybe it was that white boy commment

what should be looked at is, how it was back then, not now....... that could be a world of difference, usually is.......

Hopkins cares. He mentions it in EVERY interview. But the history he gives is bull****. He grew up in a plush neighborhood.

This is just setting facts straight, as far as his PR stunt about having had a tough childhood and overcoming obstacles.

It ain't so. Otherwise carry on. I didn't see this as such an important topic, though for some reason posters have trouble accepting that Hopkins is not who they think he is as far as his past is concerned
