That's funny, because Taylor was the one gassing in the later rounds and Hopkins coming on strong, no? Taylor is a hard-punching, young fighter with a excellent jab, and a bit of an unknown when Hopkins fought him. Hopkins had trouble with him, and so what? Does that equal "washed up"? He's beaten Tarver and Wright since then. So from now on if a fighter loses a couple of fights, he's immediately "washed-up"? Even if he comes back with quality, impressive wins? Explain who ISN'T washed-up, then? If Hopkins is "washed-up" then half the fighters out there are.
Age is not a measurement of how "washed up" you are in boxing. Sorry. This isn't baseball. It's not a game of numbers and stats. Take that **** to your fantasy leagues. Hopkins has NEVER been an agressive, volume puncher. He's always been a cautious, dirty, counter-puncher and seems to me not too much has changed. Watch him in his fights when people were heralding him as a "wonder," and comparing him to Hagler and all these great MW's, etc. He was fighting damn near the same way, the same pace, etc, as he does now.
My gut feeling is that you are simply a hater. You hate Calzaghe for whatever reason (you failed to answer those questions) and fear he may beat Hopkins, so this thread is simply some pro-active damage control, trying to act as though Hopkins isn't the #1 LHW in the world and that he's washed up. Nice try, but very transparent.
