We will see when Calzaghe has retired.

It's hard to call someone who hasn't even retired 'great' unless we are talking about someone like Duran, Pep or Robinson who all fought until their 40's and had already established their greatness.

Calzaghe still has a few fights left in him.

This man's resume and accomplishments are not that impressive and a win over a washed up Hopkins will not change that.

Calzaghe fans, what has Joke done to be considered great?
The facts come out, Where are the british biased nuthuggers?

Pffff. It's funny how you guys see Calzaghe as such a threat. Hate threads suck. Post something constructive for a change.

There is nobody Calzaghe can beat which would make $iN think otherwise.. He is a hater, simple. If Calzaghe whoops Pavlik you will say he should have fought Dawson and if he whooped Dawson you will call him another Jeff Lacy. Every great fighter will always have criticts, it was the same with Roy Jones and other fighters but when it's all said and done everyone will admire them more.

The fact is, anybody who doesn't give Calzaghe his dues, does not know boxing. He has beaten every guy put in front of him and made it look easy, but these " I wanna make love to Floyd Mayweather and show my **** by putting him in my sig guys" still try to **** on him. He has never ducked anybody, and the that fact he is chasing a fight with a true warrior like Pavlik, shows that he is a credit to the sport of boxing when most other so called greats avoid the best in their division .

I dont know 100% if he will beat Hopkins but I know win or lose, he will always have my respect. And if you would rather support a vile, racist, illiterate little **** like Hopkins, I feel sorry for you.

A true BRITISH hero, he does not need to fight in the usa to prove he is great.

Calzaghe has beaten everyone who has come into his radar as a serious challenger for the past 10 years. He didn't fight Ottke, but that was because of Ottke. He's beaten everyone else, including the best SMW's from the US, and in almost every case, he's beaten them definitively. He's an exciting fighter, who happens to be pretty damn good, too.

So I guess my next set of questions would be... why would you dislike the guy so much? Who has he ducked? What performance did you hate, where he stunk up the joint? Why do YOU consider him a "joke"?

You like asking the questions, why not try answering a few? Thanks!
Hopkins has not been at his best for years. Just look at the Taylor fights from a few years ago. The man has no stamina and barely throws punches. He is washed up. Are you seriously trying to say a 43-year-old fighter is not way past his best?

Okay, coming from a BERNARD HOPKINS FAN, I'm sick of hearing people put down Joe Calzaghe. This man as of right now will undoubtedly go down at the GREATEST Super Middleweight of ALL TIME. He's walked through every challenge put in front of him. People talk **** about Jeff Lacy now saying he was nothing, when before the fight the majority picked him to knock the **** out of Calz. What happened?

Mikkel Kessler, dangerous foe at 168 that many thought could overtake Calzaghe's throne. What happened?

Look, I'm not trying to get into a ridiculous debate over somebody's greatness, because I happen to have that discussion too many times while defending Hopkins' legacy, but with that being said, I see the same similarities in both Joe AND Hopkins' haters:

"Yeah, they both have over 20 defenses, but who did they fight?"

They fought WHO WAS THERE. They fought the best people in their division. Hopkins could have walked away making millions and not fought Jermain Taylor, but he took the challenge. Calzaghe could have taken big name fights against guys like Winky Wright, Jermain Taylor or Roy Jones but decided to fight Mikkel Kessler in order to disprove the assumption that he was "ducking" him, only to outfight him in dominant fashion.

BOTH of these men have done, what I consider, to be necessary to go down as first ballot hall of famers. Yes, I bet all my points against Joe come April 19th based on the fact that Hopkins s my favorite fighter of all time. But I'm sick of hearing people say Joe is nothing because he hasn't fought in the states, and his toughest opposition were guys like Lacy and Kessler.

GIVE THE MAN HIS JUST DUE. That is all

wow......this is a new thread, new idea.

                      Calzaghe the protected Euro f.ag.

If you thought Calzaghe was such a disgrace you wouldn't post threads about him everyday.

If Calzaghe beats Hopkins and Pavlik. He'll be an ATG. The thread starter will cling to a low profile Chad Dawson like a piece of dog **** to a pair of new trainers, as a stick to beat Calzaghe with. If he turns out to be another Jeff Lacy, he'll cling to a Prime Roy Jones who would have been impossible to make a fight with at that time with Joe's lacklustre performances and mini fan base, and disillusioned promoter. Or he could use a fat, unprofessional, James Toney, whose path never ever showed any semblance of crossing with Joe's.

All Americans obviously because everyone knows the only good fighters come out of the land of the twinky.

Whatever, shut up SIN your boring.
