I wanna see Verno Phillips fight Bundrage next.
Nobody thought Alfonso Gomez would beat Arturo Gatti, that didn't make him a world beater. Gomez is the same fighter he was before he beat Gatti, so is Bundrage.

Bundrage fought a hungry fight, no doubt about it. He deserves all the respect in the world for getting a W over a former champion. That doesn't make him Terry Norris, though. He didn't look exceptional, he just showed more initiative and drive. There was nothing in the way of left hand offense and he didn't show anything approaching a plan to set up his right cross.

Why should he get to fight Verno Phillips next when Sechew Powell is the mandatory and has been waiting in line?

Please don't compare the stock of Arturo Gatti to the stock of Kassim Ouma. Gatti was shot as **** when they fought. It was sad... This Ouma may have been a little worn, but he still had the fight in him. It wasn't some sort of blow out where you could say that Ouma just doesn't have it. K9 just has more.

Ouma was coming off 2 consecutive losses, so how is this the win that pole vaults him over Sechew Powell AKA the mandatory challenger for a title shot?

I did not say that Sechew should lose his spot dude. Stop putting words in my mouth. I said that K9 should fight Verno Phillips next. That doesn't mean that Powell can't get his shot.. I just dont think he'll win.

And one of those losses was against the MW champ.. lol. Even k9 is bigger than Ouma.

Bottom line is that YOU thought Ouma would win, and probably easily.

I couldn't agree with you more K-Nine! Question for Asian Sensation-Who have Sechew Powell Beat? We all know the fight against K-9 was a FLUKE! Powell just dosen't have a name like K-9 point blank! The DOG next fight should be a tune-up then for the IBF or WBA title.

Come on now every knows rating doesn't matter now a days...If you have a name you can fight a champion any day....just like now you don't have to fight for a title 2 get a million dollars or more.

The other loss was to a journeyman. Ouma hasn't won a fight in almost 2 years, yet Bundrage's win earns him an immediate title shot?

Speaking of putting words in my mouth, I don't think you can find a post where I picked Ouma over Bundrage. In fact, I said that people would be wise, given the odds, to bet on Bundrage because I know Ouma to be highly undisciplined when not in camp.

In Bundrage's last notable fight, he was KO'ed by a prospect, Joel Julio. It would be a crime for him to get a title shot over Sechew Powell, who KO'ed him in less than 30 seconds.

I know he's your buddy or cousin or something, but I believe in a boxing where you earn title shots.

K-9's name comes from The Contender.

How do we all know that the Powell-Bundrage fight was a fluke. From what I remember of the fight, Bundrage was doing the Trevor Berbick against Mike Tyson, falling all over the place. Nothing fluke about that, unless Powell meant to hit him in the stomach or something.

Powell hasn't beaten anyone of note, unless you count Ishe Smith (which was one of the ugliest fights I've ever attended). That said, Powell doesn't have a first round KO loss to the number one contender on his ledger,

I guess I'll just re-quote my self for the 3rd time. Word for word this time, because you seem to get lost:

When he fought Julio he had 3 weeks notice. Dude had to lose 35 pounds in 3 weeks.

That's EXACTLY what I'm tryna tell Asian over here. He needs to fight Phillips next, but Powell can still get his shot.. Damn..

And I wouldnt mind seein a Powell-Bundrage rematch neither.
