I didn't say there was anything wrong with the way Witter behaved in the interview - but someone asked earlier in the thread "What Attitude??!" and i gave an example. The example is of why Witter is less popular than Hatton in this country. Witter doesn't appeal to the normal public AND does not appear to the boxing fans because he has not beat anyone other than a practical nobody in Vivian Harris and the PPV buying housewifes of this country think he's arrogant and mean. Hatton however, has a HUGE household appeal and has a number of credible names to his records and one or two super fights.

What do you think my REAL reason for my dislike of Witter? I can tell you I've spent an evening in the company of Witter, and I can tell you that he is extremely charmless. However this wouldn't stop me cheering him against a foreign competitor. I'd like to see this bout just as much as anyone else. But I can see why it is not viable also.

The notions that he is being held back as a black man is just ridiculous. This is the United Kingdom, not America.

Ha, believe me, i'm not racist and do not dislike Junior Witter because he's isn't white.

Are you suggesting that Nigel Benn was some kind of "uncle Tom"? Junior Witter is British, Nigel Benn is British. I don't differentiate from anybody else. It seems that you have a chip on your own shoulder.

Ricky Hatton is a hard drinking, working class hero. This is his big gimmick and it goes down really really well. Junior Witter may train harder, but I think Hatton fights harder. He just comes across better to the public.

Nigel Benn was always treated with respect because he fought hard, was proud to be British - but nobody was fussed what colour he was or where his heritage came from. Other fighters aswell of colour that have captured British hearts ... Frank Bruno, Naseem Hamed, Eubank, Amir Khan, these are to name just a few of the peoples all time and current favourite fighters. You can't say that British people are racist towards it's boxers.

Like I said before, race seems to be a bigger issue where you live. Nobody ever got lynched on my street Elvin.

It's political correctness.

Most of the kids were black at my school, I would have had a short life if I was big giant racist. lol
