I hear ya man.... That type of confidence kills the cat. He might not make it to Pavlik if B-hop beats him. Joe is a damn good fighter, but B-hop is the wrong figther to overlook by any means. Even at this stage of Hopkins career, he is an intellegent fighter and he knows the tricks and trades of fighting so I just hope Joe isnt being to ****y about this fight.

true. hopkins was the much bigger draw 6 years ago and Calzaghe should've accepted the offer cuz Hopkins was giving him a chance at instant stardome in america. I still think calzaghe isn't that well known amongst casual fans in the states even though he has a fight set up with hopkins.

if hopkins didn't want to fight calz back then, why would he fight him now in his much depleted state? its cuz he thinks calz is a little bigger now and ppl know about him so hops agreed to not take as much of a percentage.

        1. i did pick lacy to beat joe but it wasnt cause i thought lacy was a greatly skilled fighter. I saw from the rubin williams fight how beatable he was. No defense and he only throws looping overhand rights. I picked him cause i didnt believe in joe. He had been fighting for 10 years and never fought anyone of note and he constantly backed out of fights. Add that to the fact he was gettin up in age I thought an aggresive youg fighter could just roll over him. But i was wrong and my view has changed. He went from a fraud to a decent fighter with the win, not a great one.

2.He then beat kessler which again was decent but not great. Did anyone notice that Joe was a so called champion before either lacy or kessler even turned pro. Truth is he should of won. There really shouldnt been any doubt in it considering he was this long reigning champion but there was. Thats wear the problem lies. It took joe over 10 years to fight anyone of worth and even then they werent that worthy. Thats says something even if his fans wont admit it.

        3. People like to say hop ducked him years ago but truth is 7 years ago joe was a nobody and he was already holdin a belt for 4 years. Tell me why anyone (roy, hop.or toney) would go over there to fight him. It made no sense ,no reward. Win and its so what whos he , lose and then what, and thats probably what hop realized when he backed out.

4.What happened to glen johnso3n. Didnt he back out of 3 fights with him . What happened to clinton woods. no he want no part of them. He would rather build his legacy on the back of a 43 year old man who everyone knows looked less than spectacular the last time out. Well im not fooled. Fighting 2 guys dont change the 10 years of duckin before that. Truth is the fact that a 43 years man is the best fighter he ever fought and half the world still thinks he can lose. thats sad and he only has himself to blame.

Oh yah i dont know who but some guy posted in this thread earlier said hops wins over trinindad and dlh were overated but then said lacy, kesler, and eubank were great. That guys a fool. Cause no matter what u think of hops resume its still way beter than joes. So what does that say abou his. Good fight though. Ill take hop by ud.
Great, Great, Post. Another little tidbit I'd like to point out. All these Calzaghe butt smooches love to point out that Lacy was a champion and Kessler was a Unified champion. Well how the **** was Kessler a unified champion in a division Calzaghe supposedly owned for 10 years? Wouldn't that make him a paper champion or was Calzaghe the paper champion? And who was the real Champion when Sven Ottke was around because they both have 21 defenses in the same division at the same time??? It's all very confusing. You really have to understand ninja math to be a Calzaghe fan. At least Bernard Hopkins doesn't have anyone else claiming a middleweight title defense record at the same time as him.

Trindiad is 5 11 and Calzaghe is 5 11 1/2. Trinidad has a different body structure, but he was probably having a really hard time to make 147, maybe even 154 too. Not to mention he completely fit in at Middleweight, as he crushed William Joppy.

And it doesn't matter what weight they start at. Mayweather started at 130, I guess that means he shouldn't be fighting Cotto then.

Homie you're wasting your time debating with that *******. He never....I MEAN NEVER...knows what he is talking about. Then once you drop FACTS on him...he resorts to little boy antics...calling you names.

But Trinidad has more of a structure to fit in at 160. I'll give you Oscar even though he was very sucessful at 154 and that's only a 6 pound difference.

Fun fact: Carmen Basillo weighed 153 pounds and was 5'7 when he beat Sugar Ray Robinson (160 and 5'11)

The weight excuse is very overrated in boxing.

Trinidads body looked like a childs compared to RJ's when they fought.

not when you started 7 weight classes above your opponent.
