What about Chad Dawson? I know he gots Glen Johnson next who is very good, but I guess some people wouldn't consider him elite. He'll definitely test Dawson though.

I would have considered Paul Williams truly untested until he fought a Mayweather or Cotto.

He beat Margarito pretty convincingly. Margarito might not be a big known name but he is a great fighter.

Joe Calzaghe hahaha, but seriously Steve Cunnigham, Chad Dawson, Lucian Bute, Edwin Valero, Jorge Linares, and Steve Molitor.

Chad Dawson is a good name to have in this discussion. I haven't seen the rest of those actually.

When I think of the most promising guy, I think of the guy who has shown the least amount of weakness that could possibly cost him a match. Dawson has shown an affinity for getting caught once a fight, but for the most part he sticks to boxing well and not getting hit much. Guzman fights almost a perfect defensive fight from what I've seen.

Berto has a good offense, but I am really worried that his defense is going to get his ass knocked out at one point.

Margarito doesn't have enough big names on his resume to call himself that big of a fighter IMO. Clottey and Cintron are his biggest names, and I'm truly not that impressed.

It can be a current world champion, as long as they haven't beaten anyone really worth talking about.

My example would be Joan Guzman. The dude has a belt, but hasn't really gotten a seriously big name fight yet.
