lol montiel is a bum...if cecilio santos could take a punch, he would have humiliated him....the sight of montiel's battered bloodied face and his bad afro was hilarious...

Thats a pretty okward list to honest. Mijares and no Pavlik? Who has Mijares beat other than Arce? Pavlik beat a feared # 1 ranked contender in Miranda and dethroned the middleweight king twice. Taylor was also top 15 pound for pound when Pavlik beat him. and why is Hopkins that far out? He should be in the top 5. He beat Wright that was top 2 at the time and Tarver was also on there when Hopkins beat him.

Cliff is a great analyst, but he has a powerful prejudice for sub-lightweight classes

I'm happy with any list that acknowledges Calderon. Is Mijares being behind him a subliminal suggestion at a match-up between the two?

No. Mijares is too big and has too many fish to fry right where he is. Calderon will drop if he doesn't fight Solis or Sosa this year and Mijares could be competing for the top spot a year from now if he can get and win fights with Munoz, Montiel and maybe Donaire next year. Donaire-Mijares could be VERY good.

Don't know if all the evidence is on that yet but we know this...great speed, excellent footwork, reflexes, defense, integrated offense and defense, and a solid chin (he took some good shots from Kawashima). What he hasn't faced yet is someone who mirrors his speed and can crack. That's why Montiel would be a great match.

montiel has a punchers chance because of his speed and power...but that's true of any fast powerful guy...i really dont get why people think montiel is all that, he is hittable as **** and his technique sucks....he is what he is...an athletic guy....

sosa and solis don't want to fight calderon...he keeps offering to fight and call them out and they keep taking other fights.
