If he fought Hatton or Cotto at 140, he would've settled the argument for that division. Yes he fought Hatton but at 147. If he fought Tony or Cotto at 147 he would've established himself as the division's top dog instead he fought relevant but undeserving fighters at the time in Zab and Baldomir and Sharmba for Christ Sake.
Zab was undeserving? He was the man at 147, so was Baldy after beating Zab. I can tell you dont know much about boxing. Who are your favorite fighters? Why should he have fought Margo, was Margo the best at 147?

The main thing most detractors point out is that Floyd hasn't beaten any great fighters and if they were great then they weren't in their prime when he fought them. And if they were prime then they weren't much to begin with.....as in overrated.

So is Cotto a great fighter?

Zab came off a loss against a garbage fighter, and Floyd fought him right after he fought Sharmba, I repeat, Sharmba. Then he fights Baldomir.

Baldomir was The Champ at welterweight. Buster Douglas took the heavyweight championship from Mike Tyson. Does that mean that Holyfield shouldn't have fought Douglas because he is a garbage fighter.

To be the champ, you beat the champ. Baldo was the recognized champ....period.

Castillo was great and in his prime not unlike when he fought Hatton. Cotto is great and he is in his prime. DLH was great like 4 years ago.

That's what you say now. That's what they said about Hatton. Until he got catoonishly knocked out and then it became.....he is overrated.

              Some consistancy would be nice.

              You enjoy this don't ya?

No, that's alright I mean he faced Baldomir got him out of the way, no worries just like Evnader faced Douglas got him out of the way. But keep going don;t proclaim you're the best that ever was. You're following me

He is not the greatest of all time no matter what he says or who he beats. He can beat Cotto but that won't enhance him to G.O.A.T. status over SRR or Ali either way.

Still he is one of the all-time greats Top 20 if he retires today.

Does what he says really bother you that much?

I never said Hatton was overrated, trace those words of mine and bring them to my attention please. I thought it was wrong for them to fight at 147. Having said that I don;t believe Hatton would've been koed in England.
Hatton was a great fighter, just not at 147

He will be remembered as of waste of something great.. A big QUESTION MARK ?? A what if.... There will always be talk about what if he was the greatest or what could have been but that will be clouded by the fact that he avoided all the big fights in the welterweight division. He will just be known for his accomplishments in lightweight division and that's it.
