Pacquiao is a worldwide star. Even if ONLY Filipinos liked him, there are enough around the world to make him a star anyway.

This fight will be huge in the Philippines and moderately so in Mexico. Even if JMM wasn't loved like Morales or Barrera he is still Mexico's last chance to get at Pacquiao.

Japan cannot make anyone "big" - you say Pacquiao isn't big because he's not a star in Japan. Have you heard of the Kameda brothers? Best known stars in Japan yet not many people know him outside of Japan.

This PPV will do well. If even the lowest hyped Pacquiao fight does good numbers this one will probably do average to above average.
the komedas are not famous cause they are the size of a gnat, and cause they only fight in japan.

japan can make you huge in asia but not in america or europe.

but you realize this fight doing 250k is already good enough?

if pacman wins and gets a fight with diaz that fight will only do 150k because who is david diaz americans dont even know him?

the lowest UFC still gets 800k buys.

      Domain and KBall,

      It's not Filipines or Phillapines.
      It's Philippines.
PHILIP(King Philip of Spain) and PINES
      PHILIPPINES, ok

Anyway, I think this fight will generate at least 350,000 buys.

The guys who are big in japan are the MMA fighters they get good deals and commericals there many actors do japanese commericals cause they pay good money...pacman has only commericals that pay pesos, if he was huge you best believet he japanese would come calling for him to do some commericals.
        .
If pacman was bigger then any MMA fighter why is it they dont know who he is in america? I look at the MMA message boards and they dont know him or even care.

heck they even said his fights are boring so how can he be bigger then an mma star?
like is this a serious answer? seriously, is it???

Why are u only huge once you have made it in America? The guy is 10x bigger then any MMA fighter in the world and its an indisputable fact. He gets big parades thrown for him every time he wins a fight. No MMA fighter gets that.

The fact that Pacquiao came over here to the state, and is a big PPV attraction doing like 300,000+ every time out (he even did almost 250,000 on a TOP RANK PPV!!! which is great) is amazing. He has transended the sport over in Asia.

And there is a boxer that i dont even know, i think its Wonjomkam or some ****, thats HUUUUGE in Japan. Gets 60 million viewers on the TV over in Japan which is massive, even for the heavyily populated Japan. HE is not popular anywhere else in the world, but he is much more popular then any MMA fighter is in Japan. The guy has all the Japanese advertisements and everything.

And DLH is obviously a bigger name then any MMA fighter here in the states, There isnt a single popular MMA fighter in Puerto Rico or Japan so....

Thats who i was talking about, The Komedas!!!!

They are HUUUGE in Japan, what r u talking about. Why the **** do u have to be popular in America to be considered popular??

and 800k is the lowest huh? I remember reading last years UFC PPV numbers, and the lowest was, oh idk, about 35,000... so... LOL

Will you please stop using incorrect information when you post about the ufc. If you look at this site http://www.mmapayout.com/2008/12/ufc...s-in-2007.html you can plainly see that the lowest ufc ppv did not receive 800,000 buys. Those ppv numbers on that website came from the premient mma reporter Dave Melter so the numbers are legit.

I see what you saying but that 250,000 ppv buy for the solis fight had to be exaggerated! because how come evander and roy jones jr couldnt even get that much ppv buys when they did there indie ppvs? roy jones jr ppv prior to trinidad was only 30,000 buys or something.

so how in the hell can pacman get more then both those guys? its an exaggeration on the behalf of top rank...they need more honesty.

Pacman is a bad ass fighter but i mean lets be real now they should be honest with the numbers.

and its proof that pacman aint even huge in asia like you said that one boxer gets massive viewers in japan...if japan wanted they would ask pacquiao to do some commericals but he is not appealing to them i guess.

The kameda brothers are popular because they are ignorant pieces of **** that everyone loves to hate and they have an awkward style.

Wonjongkom is from Tailand, former WBC flyweight titlist.

This fight does more then 250,000. 320 or somewhere in there sounds right.

they dont exaggerate the #'s. They exaggerate them for a few days after the fight but then the official numbers are publicly released.

Jones Jr-Hanshaw did 30,000 cause nobody wanted to see that, and it was horribly promoted so nobody even knew it was happening.

And Pacquiao is at the peak of his craft AND his popularity. Everybody who can wants to see him.

Pac is HUGE in the Phillipines no doubt about it and I don't kno wat those other guys were talkin about but his fights are exciting.

But Marquez is not huge in Mexico. It may look like boxing is huge in mexico but all of my people from mexico tell me that its not even a big deal and that wrestling is the real draw outside of futbol.

Both Juan and Rafael are not big although they have more fans than others. The only HUGE mexican boxer outside of De La Hoya was Chavez.

With that sed I still think this fight should hit 300k but I really wish you guys would stop thinkin that people are all gonna buy the ppv cuz in truth there not, Calzaghe Kessler and Pavlik Taylor both did underwhelming numbers
Kessler vs Calzaghe wasn't on PPV

Yes Pavlik vs Taylor didn't do that great of numbers but it was Pavliks first fight on PPV and Taylor has never been a PPV draw.

Pacquiao is a PPV draw his fights with Barrera and Morales averaged 350k.

Manny is a huge star and Marquez has his following which will make this a very big fight and event.

And your wrong about boxing not being big in Mexico, boxing is one of the 3 biggest sports in Mexico and across latin america it is very big.

Boxing is still on the front page of newspapers in Mexico and often leads off the sports report on the news, plus boxing is pretty close to the number one sport among hispanics here in the US.
