If he wants to box, he should box now and go to school later. He's in his prime at his peak now. He'll be able to hit the books at any point in his life. If he walks away now he's likely to want to come back 5 years from now and have missed his chance at being his best. I really don't buy him having long days as a sob story. It's so difficult being intelligent and an incredibly gifted athelete. Choose one do the other later, and enjoy yourself. He's extremely lucky.

          Reality check for the BabyBull.

Yeah, damn him for trying to improve himself and use his brain to suceed in his life outside of boxing AND actually prepare for a career outside of the ring.

Damn him for having other interests while getting paid killer money.

What on earth was he thinking?

Im not trying to nuthug because I know you will say that I am, but how can you be happy he lost. He is good for the sport of boxing, Everyone sees people like Floyd and hear remarks like Berards to Joe. There is a stereotype out there that boxers are thug. This is a kid that is doing everything to bring the sport of boxing a good clean fighter and give boxing a good name.He is a role model for all mexican children with illegal parents that are growing up in the barrio with no money and no food, and for blacks that are in the ****** living on goverment income. It shows that with all odds stacked against you, that you can still succeed in whatever you want. There are to many ********** that live life the wrong way and feel the only way to get some where is by thuggin and slangin on the block. He is showing that you can come from that enviroment and still do good.

That's not the point. THe point is that professional prize fighting is hard on it's own. It's a mental sport and you don't need outside distractions, specially something as hard as college or law school.

It looked good while he was winning and it was a great american story but the rollercoaster ride is over now. He can either set aside the whole law school thing and focus on his boxing career for 3 or 4 more years or he can retire and go to law school.

No can do both........as it showed last night.

I dont know if you come from an hispanic background or have parents that came from Mexico, but I have and the most the most important thing to them is SCHOOL. I mean I am doing pretty well for myself, but my father is always on my ass cuz I havent gone to school. I am 23 and he still screams and yells at me for that. We still have arguements over that. There is no way you can convince a Mexican immigrant that ANYTHING is more important than school. And he really does have those long days. It's not just a sob story its true life, no bull****.
