One of the guys that I train that goes to Savannah's Boxing Gym here in Houston is telling me that Juan might retire. Before the fight even happened there was talk that he was gonna beat Campbell, then go for Pacman and after that retire on top as an all time great champion. Well, they were saying if he lost this fight that he might just retire and focus solely on school. He really really wants to go to school. He really has never had a childhood. I think from the age of 6 or 8, he has been boxing. At around 10 or 11 he was already fighting in tournaments. He had 110 amateur fights, then tried for the Olympics, and finally became pro at 16. Well now he is 24 and has never been able to go out and party and **** with hoes. You know the regular **** a high schooler and college kid does in his teens and early 20's. His life has been so scripted since he was a kid. So from what Im hearing he might and probably will retire. There is a possibility of getting a rematch and fighting Pac, but I dont know how much Juan wants to do it. Again, this is not written in stone, just a rumor that I am hearing from someone inside the gym.
I got some inside info on Juan.......

for a lightweight, he seemed to be in mediocre condition.
rarely do you see flab when you look at the back of a lightweight, diaz had some flab. -
I think its just being in the moment. He didnt lost based on his skills. He just had adversity and it threw him off. But let him have a few months of rest and he will be back.Comment

Oh **** thanks for the scoop Htown, I think he should go for a rematch at least. Noone wants to go out with a loss.Comment

I'd be sad to see him retire. But it might not be bad for him to take about 2 years off, finish school, and then come back for a couple more years, then hang em up. Retiring on a loss will leave a bitter taste in his mouth, I think.Comment

i highly doubt diaz will retire.
the entire fight I kept thinking, 'Campbell learned a valuable lesson from the Peden bout-protect yourself at all times.'
I will say this though, it must be FRUSTRATING to lose to a guy who started boxing at 24, when you started at 7. (Diaz)Comment
