Well I thought he would beat a 42 year old Hopkins easy, but I guess I was wrong.

Like Floyd Patterson beat Sonny Liston in both of their fights? Like Leonard beat Duran in their first fight? Like Vernon Forrest beat Mayorga? Need I go on?

Winky is too old, too inactive, and too much above his best weight of 154 to beat Kessler at this point. I give him a better chance against Pavlik if he can still make 160.

For some reason I feel Winky is on the decline.....I'd cheer for him if he fought either guy (Kessler or Pavlik) but I'm not completely confident saying he'd win. He could but I'm not sold until I see him really perfom against a bigger guy. I think he should stay at 160 personally. I know Pavliks mW champ and I'd like to see them fight but Pavlik is long and tall for Winky.

patterson was done and duran was not just a puncher. and mayorga stole verron heart before the fight.....
            ali vs. liston
            spinks vs. ricardo
and every that watched sugar ray vs duran 1 knew sugar ray fought the wrong way and corrected in second fight

I think it would be a fight that borderlines VERY GOOD and GREAT.

The fight wont REALLY start until first blood.

I would expect a brawl; standing 8 counts; broken noses; severe cuts; bruises; etc.

they would come out of the fight looking like they fought heavyweights.

we all know both fighters have power...
                  both are tough fighters

i think after all this trash talking kessler takes the fight...

maybe he's holding out because he wants the fight in his home country or for more money...who knows...but when you have HBO and SHO wanting to broadcast the fight at the same time its a big deal and i think so.

it would be a very good fight...add in a decent undercard and it would be one of the best non-ppv cards of the year.

i think it would be a close fight but see miranda winning in the end.

one good punch could sway the fight.

it would be a "dont blink or you'll miss it" fight...a knockout/knockdown could happen at nearly anytime and its a great fight for the fans...

He talks like a fighter, has tattoos like he’s a tough guy, but when it comes down to being a real fighter, he’s not even worthy of carrying my gloves.”

                    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fight between Miranda and Kessler was originally pitched for the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, but that location was turned down. Seminole Warriors Boxing, Miranda’s promoter, immediately acquiesced and offered a neutral location for the bout – again, Kessler refused. Even extreme interest from HBO and Showtime couldn’t convince the Denmark native to fight the Colombian standout, even though a win over Miranda would help erase the memory of his decisive loss to Joe Calzaghe last November. “I have a message for Mikkel Kessler, or Kessler the Kitten as I call him after he gave away his belts without a fight last year," said Miranda. "Joe Calzaghe is not going to fight you again. What more does he have to prove after he slapped you around for 12 rounds? The only way you’re going to erase that loss from the fans' memories is if you beat a legitimate fighter like me, but you know you can’t beat me, that’s why you won’t take this fight. So my advice to you is to retire and leave the fighting to the men. I challenge any of the so called top super middleweight contenders to step up and fight Pantera, but I doubt any of you have the guts."
Miranda is an extremely underrated **** talker. He's one of the best.

I think it is an interesting matchup. We all know Bute won't go anywhere near Kessler as Bute is yet to fight a guy with a heartbeat.

It all comes down to Kessler feeling he deserves the easy road. You got guys like Bute making defenses against guys like Joppy, who have done nothing significant in years and years, yet somehow get ranked by an alphabet soup organization so the Bute camp jumps at the opportunity . Kessler is coming off a loss. It does not matter who it was against, but he damn sure should get off his invisible pedestal and fight some new blood.

Miranda represents that new blood. It could be a huge win for Kessler as lets face it, Miranda brings the US exposure and money. To say Miranda has fought nobody at 168 is kinda true, but when nobody seems willing to mix it up with him, what can he do?
