The fight is over and it is what is. Let's... let it go bro. I'm not and refuse to bash Marquez. I think the world of him. He's a warrior with great skills.

If you don't think Vazquez is better.... no problem. All I ask...just respect him. I think he has at least earned that.
I'm not the least bit "heated".

I am however left scratching my head at people claiming Vasquez is the better fighter............yet they have absolutely no explanation. At all.

All you did there, was further reinforce a vague notion that I disagree with.

If you have no explaination, I'll move on. Because it's clear you're just a fan boy and Vasquez will be your idol for a few weeks.

That's perfectly normal. Enjoy the boxing talk guy!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work the corner with Vazquez and know him personally. so, I think I will be a fan for life. But Marquez made me a fan of his as well. I will always respect him. You did not answer my question, do you at least respect Vazquez?

Marquez is a more skilled technician but Vazquez is a better fighter because when you factor in heart, chin, and conditioning Vazquez proved he was the better man. I actually think Vazquez took just as much punishment as Rafa but his will heart and balls made it so he NEVER took a step back and came forward and imposed his will on Marquez. In the 12th round Vazquez was just as tired as Marquez but he came up way stronger, if not then he had better conditioning which then makes the better fighter.

Well.... the way you were talking down about him, it was hard to tell. Listen, let's just leave this as us agree to disagree. I think we both know it won't be settle on here.

Marquez is a great fighter and greater warrior.

IMO Marquez fans should now be Vazquez fans and Vice Versa. They are real mexican warriors. Like, i said earlier.....I've been with Vazquez over 10 years,..... and Marquez made me a fan of his.

So you don't think that had anything to do with the basic fact that Marquez moved up in weight to fight Vasquez, the bigger man?

of course it played a factor, but Rafa is not a small bantamweight who moved up and fought a huge super bantamweight. Rafa was the hardest puncher at 118 without a question and I actually think he stops the majority of the guys at 122 as well, but Izzy just isn't one of them. Vazquez is a very strong guy for the weight but he's not one of the guys who is clearly too big for his division and in fact was hurt by Rafa many times but his will allowed him to never back down.

Of course the size played a part, but this wasn't a huge factor especially since Rafa began as a bantam and was never more than 5 pounds below 122 in his career.

Yeah, I realize he's an excellent fighter.

I just totally disagree with the "You're the Man if you beat the Man" line of thinking. I will never agree with that...........at all.

But to each his own, Carry on.

I don't agree with that line of thinking either, but I don't see any fighter under 130 beating Vazquez. He not only beat Marquez but he beat some very good opposition beyond that. Unless you think Caballero or de leon can beat him he has to be the man. I think he is the king of the bantams and will soon be on top of the featherweight division too.
