Roys only steriod is Jesus.Roy Jones, Jr.'s first performance following the BALCO debacle was against Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver in November of 2003. Do you remember how Roy looked then? To put it in the words of Joe Calzaghe, he looked... "human for a change."
I was shocked to see Jones looking spent and seemingly out of it in his corner in between rounds, being pummeled by Tarver as he laid against the ropes for a great part of the fight. The bout was close and of course the decision went to Jones Jr. But sometimes in winning, you lose just as much, and Roy lost a lot of credibility here. So what did Roy do? He began to make excuses... ranking in first place was the excuse about having had to come down in weight from the November fight against John Ruiz -never mind that he had six months in which to lose 18 pounds... Heck, I know guys who do that in a fraction of the time, for a whole lot less money and still manage to win fights. He made excuses about other things too, but Antonio Tarver wasn't having any of it.
Team Tarver pressed the issue and a rematch was agreed to. Roy's pride was on the line; he even said the second time around would be more than personal. This rematch was about Roy Jones Jr. having to save face, plain and simple.Comment

i didnt say the whole fight. you all read what you want to read. watch the 5th and watch tarver get hit to the body with a nice hook and fall to the ropes and roy let him go. again not saying i agree with it. when roy was fighting and going at tarver he was making him look bad. never said the whole fight i admitted that roy threw the fight for reasons we will never know. i said my only guess was he wanted to prove he can go 12 without getting KOed.Comment

i suggest u shut up nowits hard when he didnt use all 6 months of the time. he had six months between the fights but that doesnt mean that he was training all 6 months for tarver. he had other fights that where up in the air. he has to stay at HW type weight so he didnt have to pack all of that back on. he did have more muscle than fat buddy. james toney has been tested positive twice with roids and he still looked fat as **** even being on them. come on man just give it up. roy didnt also have 18 pounds of fat on him either. if he did have fat he had more muscle. when you get rid of all the fat that you have. you lose muscle. he was WEIGHT drained in the fight with tarver.

Truth. you hit the nail on that one. and if the roids caused him to have more energy than why was he looking just as energetic in the 12th round of the trinidad fight? he didn't look tired in between any of the rounds going to the corner. You know why? cuz he settled into his weight. Stop hating.Comment
im also still wondering what excuses im making????
