To shed light on Roy Jones and his ROID abuse:

Roy Jones, Jr.'s first performance following the BALCO debacle was against Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver in November of 2003. Do you remember how Roy looked then? To put it in the words of Joe Calzaghe, he looked... "human for a change."

I was shocked to see Jones looking spent and seemingly out of it in his corner in between rounds, being pummeled by Tarver as he laid against the ropes for a great part of the fight. The bout was close and of course the decision went to Jones Jr. But sometimes in winning, you lose just as much, and Roy lost a lot of credibility here. So what did Roy do? He began to make excuses... ranking in first place was the excuse about having had to come down in weight from the November fight against John Ruiz -never mind that he had six months in which to lose 18 pounds... Heck, I know guys who do that in a fraction of the time, for a whole lot less money and still manage to win fights. He made excuses about other things too, but Antonio Tarver wasn't having any of it.

Team Tarver pressed the issue and a rematch was agreed to. Roy's pride was on the line; he even said the second time around would be more than personal. This rematch was about Roy Jones Jr. having to save face, plain and simple.

Ben Johnston, Marion Jones remember those?

according to some crazed fans who think Jones was even a good champion (Well against the binmen and part-time teachers he did) Steriods do not affect athletes. That must be the reason they are banned and guys like Johnston and Jones abuse the because it doesnt improve performance or endurance duh silly me.

He had to lose 18lbs you moron.

You cant just lose 18lbs of muscle you complete goon it would be muscle, water and fat.

And if he was training for 10wks for Tarver 18lbs lost would be fat not muscle.

I remember Ben Johnson the sprinter.

Are these two guys related by any chance?

PS. To confirm you are stating that Roy Jones was not a good World champion?

not really dude. he had to stay around heavyweight bc there where some fights that where being talked about. holyfield was intrested since roy had a title, roy was talking to tyson about a fight, there was talks of lennox lewis wanting to fight him, a possible rematch with ruiz was being talked about, corrie saunders was also being mentioned, james toney was also talkin about moving up to fight roy for the title. hence why when roy left he fought ruiz for the vacated title. so roy had to keep the weight on. he did lose muscle. he didnt look like toney as a HW he actually had a great body. he weight more in water than he ever did in his career.

he struggled all the way down to the day of the weigh-in. it was actually his fault he wasnt in as good of shape as he should have been bc he admitted that he took the camp lightly bc he thought it would have been easier to lose the weight. he said even before the fight started he didnt feel 100%. after the fight he said that losing all the weight was harder than he thought. he lost all that weight and still beat tarver in that fight. just imagine what would have happend if tarver would have called him out before he went HW or tarver grow some and move up to HW to fight him.
