IMHO professional boxers along with most explosive athletes have probably been taking steroids for over 40 years now.It would enhance their recovery times and so enable them to train harder nest time.With extra muscle mass comes greater strength and power.Steroids also enhance aggression,which is important in a sport such as boxing.
