  • How big a factor was Roy Jones Steroid use?

How much did it enhance his career?
Could he have put on the Meat without the Juice for his one and only fight against a Trinket holder at Heavyweight?
How many years was he using THG before it became detectable?
And was it a factor that when the Balco scandal broke in 2003 Roy became human overnight?
    What are your thoughts.
Are you among those people who can accept that someone who tested positive for steroids which in effect is cheating?
Do you find it hard to swallow that Roy shattered the illusion ?
Or can you just shrug it off and think "I don't care....Roy is my boy cheat or no cheat!!!"

    Thoughts?

It's hard to say, but threads like these are a great lesson for all the young boxers out there looking for a shortcut to greatness.

Aside from all the medical issues, this is what happens when you decide to use performance-enhancing drugs. It causes people to question everything you have accomplished in your career. Roy Jones Jr. has in fact accomplished a lot in his career, probably legitimately and without the use of the drugs. But we will never know for sure now. Everything he has ever done in the ring is now under scrutiny and has only himself to blame. He will never get the legacy he once had back.

It’s just not worth it. Work hard and stand on your own and win or lose, you will never have to look over your shoulder or have your integrity called into question. Defeat is nothing compared to feeling of shame.

Steroid does not turn you into a better boxer, anyone thinks steroids can turn you into a super boxer is a ****** like Gavinz1970.

It doesn't inhance your skills at all BUT it what it does do is makes it much easier to build muscle and to recover from a workout session, so they do have an unfair advantage when training because they are able to continue training for much longer peroids of time without worrying about overtraining or becoming tired.

Steroids does not improve your skills, chin or power. It does make you physically stronger and probably can improve your stamina like you said.

But if you look at most of the heavyweights, they really don't have great stamina. I think 90% heavyweights today are in steroids.

Because of his steroid abuse I'm very glad he got screwed in the Olympics. Kind of makes up for it.

Yes Gun star Steroids do nothing for you and that is why they are banned.
                  You know they enhance performance.
Train longer and harder therefore giving you an edge.

So the heavyweight champion should be one of the world strongest men contestants.

Lets compare the heavyweights today to the heavyweight of the past, you will see the heavyweights today are much bigger but their stamina is ****.
