well you thought wrong. birthplace means absolutely nothing. and if you ask Lennox where he is from he'll say he's a Londoner? I doubt he will name his current place of residence as the place that he is from even if he lives there cuz ppl usually give their country of origin as the place they are from and I would think that he would probably say jamaica as the place that he is from. btw he also owns a home in Canada.
kswizzy listen if Lewis was born in Canada and and came to London at the age of 12 and Boxed for Britain at the Olympics im sure you would still be claiming he was British so where is your logic u are just being purely biased
if Lewis was born in Britain but he moved to Canada at the age of 1/2 then i think u would have an argument but 12 years is a long time son and if u are born somewhere and live their for that long i think its fair to say that is where u come from ,Canada may have furthered his Boxing career granted but his nationality is clearly British

totally agree ,where you learned to box has got nothing to do with where you are born and bred!
and of course lewis is the fighter he is today because of the training he did in Canada ! no one is saying any different ,but to say a fighter can be considered from a certain country cause he learned to fight there is just silly!
lol my parents were born in Britain but have lived in Canada for nearly 20 years, but they are still British, as is Lennox.
randall hopkirk, get out of my city. lol j/k. your parents probably came here as adults and if they did, than they are british but if they came here as children, they probably wouldn't call themselves British. I'm sure your parents still have a British accent where as lewis didn't have a british accent at all when he won gold for Canada. he was a true Canadian.
No it would have been rescinded, when he moved to Canada and was granted Canadian citizenship to fight for Canada in the Olympics. As both his parents were not born in Britain.
Haone. Hatwo. Haone two free faw...
BULLLLLLL****!
You do not need to rescind your British nationality when you become a citizen of another country. Some countries require you to give up your original citizenship when you become a citizen there. Canada... is not one of those countries. Ask me how I know.
Lewis, who was named to the Canadian Sport Hall of Fame in May
So that's him and Wayne Gretzky. Any more people and they'll need to buy another plinth.
he only two places that can truly claim responsibility for all of Lennox's success are Canada and the continent of Africa where Lewis' ancestry originated. He has African blood running through his veins and he learned to love boxing and trained for boxing in Canada PERIOD. Britain and Jamaica didn't make Lewis what he was. Its kinda like a british buying a BMW and claiming its a british car just cuz its being driven and owned by a brit
Holy ****ing smoke, are you for real? You are equating buying a german car and taking out of germany with buying an african man and taking him out of africa? You make me sick.
no good boxers come out of the Uk so that explains it
Canada on the other hand is brimming with superb talent. Like George Chucalo. And... Otis Grant?
