The above is true. Wlad said himself he was having trouble landing on Sultan. A big man like Wlad has to punch down and that lowers his body which can be countered by a smaller man.
I also think this was one of the reasons why Lewis avoided Byrd (on the request of Manny). Lewis would win, but would look terrible in winning. Sultan has arguably more power than Byrd even though he isn't a devastating puncher either, but Wlad had to be cautious.
Lewis fought another shorty in Tua, but even that Tua was not the same: he was obese Tua by that point. Tyson, by the time he met Lewis was shot and stuck in cement.
Wlad can do well with stationary short men like Peter, but not fighters that can move a bit. Sultan's not even that good compared to the short, movers of the past, but you go for the Win.
