The above is true. Wlad said himself he was having trouble landing on Sultan. A big man like Wlad has to punch down and that lowers his body which can be countered by a smaller man.

I also think this was one of the reasons why Lewis avoided Byrd (on the request of Manny). Lewis would win, but would look terrible in winning. Sultan has arguably more power than Byrd even though he isn't a devastating puncher either, but Wlad had to be cautious.

Lewis fought another shorty in Tua, but even that Tua was not the same: he was obese Tua by that point. Tyson, by the time he met Lewis was shot and stuck in cement.

Wlad can do well with stationary short men like Peter, but not fighters that can move a bit. Sultan's not even that good compared to the short, movers of the past, but you go for the Win.

I think Wlad has a positive influence in boxing.
      1. Not an ugly mofo. (ex. BHop)
      2. With English as his second language, he is still more eloquent than many American fighters (ex. BHop).
      3. Highly educated unlike (ex. BHop)
      4. Not an ex-con unlike (ex. BHop)

Wlad is held to Impossible standards by his detractors..

2 weeks ago Valuev pitched a shutout on Liakhovich.. using his jab to keep the smaller man at bay.. and threw the odd right hand in the later rounds..
It was a boring yet technically brilliant performance from Valuev..
And Full credit has been Given to Valuev

Klitschko VS Ibragimov was almost a carbon copy of that fight..
And Wlad has gotten nothing but ****..For doing what he had to do to win..

Why the double standard??... there is no rule that says a Unification fight MUST be a barnburner... All you need to do is win.. and That is what he did..

One good KO win and the phony fans will be back on his bandwagon.

And it's not like it was a disputed win, he pitched a shutout against a dangerous opponent.

The difference is Valuev is not afraid of getting hit.

Generally people are a bit hard on Wladimir, but in the case of his last fight I have to disagree with you. Wladimir DELIBRATELY held back on KO'ing an opponent that he should have KO'd. I mean being cautious is one thing, but once you realize that you're opponent has nothing to offer in return, you should turn it up a bit. He was less cautious against Peter and Brewster who are considerably more dangerous than Sultan imo.
