There should be a height limit for heavyweights

that's the most pathetic thing ive read.
you have to be really ****** to think his size had nothing do to with his wins!!!!!!!!!!Comment

Klitschko is not only tall and big, hes a verry skilled heavyweight and a hard puncher. Ibragimovs defense is just average, although he has decent movement. Of course Wlad is th favourite in this fight but to me a win for Ibragimov is not out of question because Klitschko has problems with southpaws and Ibragimov is a fast southpaw. Brewster was also much smaller than Vlad but he once beat him.Comment

Yeah. The thing that struck me about the Klitschko/Ibragimov weigh-in wasn't the height difference, but how much better condition one of the guys was in. Part of the reason I don't follow the heavyweight division closely is because I don't feel like I'm seeing athletes in the peak physical condition required.Comment

Ok, Valuev has beaten this guys with his size, cause that all what he has. But that only works against this poor opponents, not against good heavyweights like Chagaev. Size allone dont make a good heavyweight. And because of his size and weight hes so slow and limited and can be outboxed by smaller faster fighters if they have the right gameplan. So his zize is also an disadvantage. That should be clearly to see if you watch his fights. Valuev showed improvements in his last fight against Likaovith but hes still far from unbeatable.
The Mayweathers would tell you the same about this size thing.Last edited by Tobi.G; 02-22-2008, 08:00 AM.Comment

I know awhile back there was a thread about a "super heavyweight division". I could actually see that. Say 240+. I think that's more realistic than a height limit.Comment

we've seen big guys fall to smaller guys in many weight classes including heavyweights...
I understand your point, but Wlad just so happens to be skillfullComment

yea well, if that's another option, im all for it..
but im sick of seeing big men vs little men a lot of the time.
gone are the days of the 70's and 80's..when heavyweights were 6'3 and 6'4 at most.Comment
