That's old talk. The fight is signed, Hopkins is older now, the fight is bigger and they're both getting more money now then they would have back then. Even for this fight at first, Bernard was asking for 60% of the split. That's his ego, he feels he is better then Joe and deserves more money. However, he was reasonable and finally did agree to 50/50.

And lets face it, had Joe came to America sooner and fought anybody like Ricky Hatton did, getting more exposure prior to the Mayweather fight, making fights with the superstars would have been much easier to make then it was. He did this to himself. He could have made much more money throughout his career had he came to America sooner to defend his WBO title against american challangers. Instead all of them came to Wales including Jeff Lacy.
