Right into the mix? He retired for 2 years. That's alot of prime years taken away from his career. Do you really think he would have retired like that had he not been outclassed the way he did?

It didnt END his career though. If thats the case, then you could make an argument that he ended De La Hoya's career because he took a 2 year lay off and then also fought and beat Mayorga and now look where's at now. dude got the biggest payday of his career after Mayorga. Trini is still fighting and making money.

Bitchkins is full of ****, he lost to Taylor twice and Taylor did better against Wright, the only thing Hopkins did against Wright was use his head in a dirty way.

Look at Glen Johnson, he's a much better fighter now, so Hopkins didn't take his soul.

Oscar Delahoya had a great win against Mayorga after the Hopkins fight, he knocked out Mayorga.

taking someones soul is what Joe Calzaghe did to Jeff Lacy or as he is now known as Jeff 'LOL' Lacy.

Hops comes across better when you see these interviews live there is a certain amount of charm about him, when you read the interviews you just think 'what a ****!'

Some of the stuff he says is golden, in the sense his sentences are random words thrown together in a spectacularly odd fashion that make **** all sense. Yet you have to admire his ability to talk so fast, and be so juvenile at 44 years of age.

That said he makes me laugh. A lot of what he says is self affirming stuff. It's bull**** and feathers really, Calzaghe knows it and smiles at him, waiting for him to say something certifiable and add a brand new conversion to his house in the process.

It's true, Delahoya ended Oscar's career as well except they became parters afterwards. I see Trinindad like I see Prince Naseem Hamed. Both undefeated champions and once they stepped in the ring with Hopkins/Barrera and got outclassed, they were never the same. Both fought once more and retired. Trinidad did comeback unlike Naseem though but he was ended as well.

Every guy has an opponent who changes him forever and Hopkins was that guy to Tito. Tarver was that guy to Jones in a way. Jones's confidence has never been the same after that Ko loss.
