Wilfred Benitez won the WBA light welterweight title from Antonio Cervantes at age 17.

Mike Tyson won the WBA heavyweight title from Trevor Berbick at age 20, unified all of the titles (WBA, WBC & IBF) at age 21.
However, Floyd Patterson is still the youngest linear world heavyweight champion (won it at age 21).

Saensak Muangsurin won the WBC light welterweight title in only his third fight. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...5832&cat=boxer

Davey Moore won WBA light middleweight title in only his 9th fight.
Leon Spinks won the world heavyweight title from Muhammad Ali in only his 7th fight.

Dwight Qawi, 5'6'' won titles at light heavyweight and cruiserweight and also competed as a heavyweight (against George Foreman).

Pete Rademacher, the 1956 olympic gold medalist got a world title shot against Floyd Patterson in his first fight as a pro.
Rademacher managed to drop Patterson once but was floored 6 times himself and lost by a knockout.

floyd's career didn't start at welter. so plz don't hate. if you don't know this already and are a new found floyd hater than let me tell you, there always was a cotto/ducked fighter for floyd to face. and he faced that fighter that he was so called avoiding eventually. cotto is nothing for floyd. he would take care of him in a heart beat. dlh would take care of cotto so imagine what floyd would do to him.

here is a quote saved for the ignorant haters...

Genaro Hernandez - 38-1-1 when they fought and WBC SFW champ.

        Diego Corrales - 33-0 (27 ko's) also Ring #1 Jr Lightweight and #5 P4P when they fought.

Jose Luis Castillo - Ring #1 Lightweight champ and WBC lightweight champ when they fought. and was later ranked as high as 7th on the ring p4p list.

Arturo Gatti - "Too big too strong for floyd. floyd is gonna get rocked by Gatti's powerful punches and there is no way Gatti could possibly get ko'd by mayweather cuz he has faced much more powerful punchers and he can take punishment like nobody else"<---what everybody thought at the time. and Gatti was the ring #2 jr welterweight when they fought.

Zab Judah - was Ring #1 Welterweight Champ(4 months prior to their fight) and IBF WW title holder. Ring #10 on the P4P list 2005.

Baldomir: Rated #1 WW and Linear Champion when they fought

Oscar De La Hoya - just came off a win on mayorga. mayorga beat vernon forrest twice. Vernon Forrest beat mosley twice. so, needless to say dlh wasn't a past prime fighter and had all his skills intact. was 1999 P4P #1 over #2 Roy Jones Jr. also was 2002 #1 jr mw, 2001 #1 jr mw, 1999 #1 ww, 1998 #1 ww, 1996 #1 jr ww, 1995 #1 LW.

Ricky Hatton - 2005 #4 on the p4p list. 43-0, #8 P4P and #1 jr ww when they fought. ricky hatton was not a blown up jr ww cuz that would make mayweather a blown up super feighterweight. and hatton walks around at 185 between fights so no excuses. This was a fair fight no matter what anyone says. Hatton came off a ko of castillo and 11th round stoppage of Kosta Tszyu. This win is extremely underrated by mayweather haters.

              Na dude (wtf)

Im older and a historian i loved the way the old fighters conducted themselves and faced challanges head on.

People like Jones, Hopkins and to a degree Calzaghe who do not fight the best around and avoid fighting the best like the plague make boxing and this era a sadder place.

when mayweather fights cotto and beats him, the world will be screaming for him to fight someone else. it'll never end.

listen he isn't fighting the best and he isn't satisfying your needs thats ok but, just ask yourself, who would win if they ever fought. If your answer isn't mayweather, than you are a hater plain and simple. Why don't you move on and take interest in another fighter if you don't like mayweather? there are plenty of fighters out there for you to watch, stop the hate.

Doesn't this belong in the history section?

And some people think Wlad would beat Ali

Ali knocked out an iron chin Foreman and other fighters but he wouldn't be able to KO China Chin Wlad who has been knocked down 11 times in his career, stopped three times, against Purrity, Sanders and Brewster.

Even Pannel, Williamson and Peter were able to knock him down.
