Mayweather is great but Ali faced every top contender and if Ali was champ and along came a you knockout artist that people thought could beat him Ali would fight him in a heart beat. Floyd hasnt in Cotto, the fight may be made and skill wise Mayweathewr is slightly compareable but he has neither the heart or sence of pride Ali had.

floyd's career didn't start at welter. so plz don't hate. if you don't know this already and are a new found floyd hater than let me tell you, there always was a cotto/ducked fighter for floyd to face. and he faced that fighter that he was so called avoiding eventually. cotto is nothing for floyd. he would take care of him in a heart beat. dlh would take care of cotto so imagine what floyd would do to him.

Im older and a historian i loved the way the old fighters conducted themselves and faced challanges head on.

People like Jones, Hopkins and to a degree Calzaghe who do not fight the best around and avoid fighting the best like the plague make boxing and this era a sadder place.

Ali knocked out an iron chin Foreman and other fighters but he wouldn't be able to KO China Chin Wlad who has been knocked down 11 times in his career, stopped three times, against Purrity, Sanders and Brewster.

Even Pannel, Williamson and Peter were able to knock him down.
