I believe taylor won. That decision was bull****. Most of the things pavlik threw were blocked by taylor. 117-111 Taylor

I was up for Pavlik but I thought those scorecards were ridiculous.

Today was "bring your kids to work day" for the judges.

Just watched Pavlik-Taylor 2 at a Bar in Dallas

Hey, I haven't posted here in awhile (see my outdated sig) but thought I would after seeing this fight in a bar here in Dallas.

Very interesting scene there. Mostly black, some whites. The black people seemed to think Taylor won while the white thought Pavlik. Some of the blacks left disgusted immediately after the announcement, ripping off their wristbands as they left.

To me, Taylor did land the best couple punches in the fight, but Pavlik outworked clearly and controlled the ring. I thought Pavlik did enough to win by a couple points (and I am white, do take that for what it's worth) but I couldn't score it or anything. Overall, I'm impressed with both fighters. Taylor made some nice adjustments but played it a little too defensive. Pavlik showed that he wasn't just a puncher but could box the full twelve.

Can any body tell me the gist of the Pavlik interview after the fight, and Taylor's if he was interviewed.

Also, any thoughts on race and boxing? Is it racism to root for one's own race or is it just a natural inclination?

                    Robbery Talk

This is one of the reasons that I left this site. Seems like everybody wants to claim judging hijinks when their fighter loses. It happens with nearly every fight and it's ridiculous.

That and the hating/nut-hugging and nothing in between mentality.

                    Quoth Brother Ali:

Talk to me when you've done somethin
Other than swing back and forth from hatin to nut-huggin

Anyway, I can entertain an argument that Taylor should have won, but not that he was robbed. That's just ignorance...

I thought it was a great fight between two men that fought their hearts out. Early on I gave the first few rounds to Pavlik. In the middle of the fight Taylor took over because he could not allow what happened last time to happen again, his training in the weeks/months prior helped him here.

BUT it didn't help get him through all 12 in good enough shape to top Kelly. The final few rounds I felt Pavlik really took charge and you could see Taylor missing and not hitting much when he threw any punches.

I had the Pavlik up by just 2 rounds..

Bottom Line: This was the longest fight for Pavlik and he still got it done... BRING A TITLE FIGHT TO YOUNGSTOWN KELLY LIKE YOU WANT TO.
