That's correct you can't win if your lying down on the floor before the bell rings at the end of 12

You disagree? It's a distinct possiblity no matter who you are or how good you are that will you be defeated by KO.

I don't think his career will be over if he loses again, there are still many fights for him at 168.

Well, I generally give the fight to the guy who is asleep on the canvas, being attended to by the ringside doctor. Oh wait...that wasn't the issue. We were talking about people wishing Jermain Taylor gets hurt..but I'll address what you just wrote. Sure, the guy who gets knocked out loses- but your statement assumes one person is getting knocked out; like it's a forgone conclusion. It's not. Many good fights end with BOTH men on their feet.

It's a distinct possiblity no matter who you are or how good you are that will you be defeated by KO. your contesting this

It's a distinct possibility that when a quarterback gets sacked he could break a leg, suffer a terrible concussion, or even get hurt more seriously. In hockey you can get checked right into the wall and break your face. In any sport you run a risk of getting seriously hurt- in boxing more than any other. That doesn't mean that because someone CAN get knocked out you have to wish harm on them. There's a huge difference between appreciating the science and skill behind a solid knockout and simply liking someone getting ****ed up. Do you agree with that?

When you take the context of this thread into account- and all you're doing is asserting that boxers need to hurt each other to win and a knockout is part of the that...seems to go against my initial statement of concern over people hoping Jermain Taylor has his career ended.

I agree. Oh, and thanks for making a post about the actual point behind this thread. I'm a warp tard, so I'm lucky anyone cares.

I wouldn't count Jermain out just yet, he has all of the physical tools and ability to beat Pavlik but the question is will he be mentally the same, after having being knocked out for the first time and not fighting any soft touches before getting back in there with Pavlik.
