Bernard is just stating the facts. The British continue to believe they are producing great fighters even though they all get a beating when they step up to real competition. Guys like Hatton and Calzaghe start believing the hype and bull**** their fans spew and think they can actually fight world class opponents and win. That was the single MOST ridiculous response ive ever heard. Calzaghe fights bums? So Manfredo wasnt all that, but he is no bum. Did you forget that Calzaghe beat the crap out of Eubanks, Lacy and Kessler? Are they not the best the division has to offer? Joe Calzaghes welsh though, not british as far as I know. And he looks more italian then his welsh blood. Calzaghe has a huge fan base, british, welsh, and italians all root for him. His name must be known in italy pretty good as well.

Hopkins is a very smart man. Think about it:

For one, he insults the British. That's motivation for them to be interested in the fight. Just like how he stomped on the Puerto Rican flag, which made every Puerto Rican on the planet order the PPV. It also makes the US interested, as a British vs US rivalry is always popular.

Two, he's getting his father involved. What's the one thing that could get under Joe's skin? Most likely his pops. The whiteboy comment may not have done it, but I'm willing to bet if he keeps making comments about his father, Joe is going to get emotional to the point of almost hatred.

O whats going on with Hops..He must be losing it to say remarks like this! I guess he is trying now to make the British and American fans have hate for each other, But I cant see that happening to be honest not boxing fans anyway..Maybe the people who are not really into boxing but will watch the fight might get carried away with all the hype that is gonna be going on, Its a shame that Hops is trying to get the fans to help fight his cause..

To be honest I see this being a boring fight Hops on the back foot all night long..He knows what Joe brings to the ring..In a interview I see the other day he was saying that the fans say hes one of the greats..LOL not when ya come out with **** like that you aint..
