Bernard Hopkins: "The British are Arrogant"
Collapse
-
Bernard Hopkins fought Roy Jones, Jr. who was large for a middleweight. That was when RJJ was as fast as they come. Sure, Roy took the decision, but Bernard fought about as good a fight as anyone considering Jones was darn-near unbeatable back then; and should be considered a top 10 p4p fighter all-time. ****** people dogging him because he finally lost a fight when he was 35 years old....yarrr...
Anywho, I think the real test will be to see how B-Hop talks should he lose to Calzaghe.

I really like his confidence though. This is Boxing, Bernard needs to go in there like he's gonna kill Calslappy. He has to, he has too many things going against him.

I see we have a lot of moron talk in here today.
GoodBoxFella: You really like the word hypocritical don't you? Did you learn that at school this week? Maybe you should learn the word irony, an example of which would be an over-zealous idiot like yourself calling someone arrogant.
True boxing fans follow fighters they like rather than fighters they happen to have been born in the same country as. That said, I really like Calzaghe and not just because he's a very talented boxer, but because unlike many men in boxing, he seems a genuinely nice guy.
Enough with the US vs UK ****, and more of two great fighters getting it on please.

One thing about B-Hop, He knows his $h!T & been to the mountain top plenty of times, & while it would be assanine to bet against him i'm just not sure (at 43) that he can neautralize the southpaw stance, speed, intellegence, youth, & work-rate of Calzaghe...but i've been wrong before

Just out of curiousity, am I the only person to be a fan of both Bernard and Joe on these boards? Both fighters are quite underated and people piss around too much about their respective hitlists.
Anyway, I am such a big Hopkins fan I actually cried tears of Joy for B-Hop the night he won the middleweight tournament against Trinidad. I have stuck with him through his robberies to Jermain, and even his increasingly boring style of fighting learned from the John Ruiz School for people with no natural aptitude for boxing.
Having said all that, I am losing interest in Bernard quickly. His rants have been too weird and the race card is de****able. I am American, but I am not interested in (nor do I appreciate) a U.S. vs England theme either.
I had planned to just sit back and watch the fight unfold originally but I will now be pulling for Joe to win. I just don't feel good about what is going on with Hopkins these days.
