trilogies are made because the first two fights were so good and could have gone each way usually they do so they have a 3rd fight. This was not a close flight. paul got his ass kicked and it's pretty much like saying i didn't show up tonight can i have another chance. Go back to all the recent rematches and trilogies the first fight is usually the best with back to back action. This was not a close fight wouldnt even want to see it again right now. Maybe if pw wins some more good fights and quintana still has the belt then a rematch down the road would be good but in immediate rematch is just ******ed. its just pw begging for another chance when tonight was his chance and he got his ass kicked.Oh it could go better in the rematch which is why I think there should be rematch. Fighting a slick southpaw isn't easy. Sometimes fighters don't prepare for that kind of style and never get into rhytm in the actual fight.
And Quintana isn't exactly unbeatable........anything is possible. That's why we have rematches and that's why we have triologies in boxing. To see who truly is the best.Comment

And since when did official judges become so credible? How many times were they wrong? Plenty of people out there had Williams winning 5 rounds like that one judge did.
All a 116-112 score shows that it could have been 115-113 or 117-111 if you gave or took away a round. That just shows how scoring a fight is subjective. Unless a fighter is being completely schooled a la Gatti-Mayweather.Last edited by Vladimir303; 02-10-2008, 03:52 AM.Comment

no ****, and how about lederman's sorry ass. that piece of trash had it even going into the twelth round. soemtimes i can't stand his unashamed nut groveling ass. it was so obvious quintana was taking it to his ass, it was silly. And since when did official judges become so credible? not enough interest by the fans for a rematch. i'd like to see quintana / bertoI tell you, some fans are quick to have the winning fighter move on to new things. For example, Pavlik gives Taylor his first loss and Taylor is supposed to be done and Pavlik is supposed to go and fight Calzaghe and all kinds of other opponents when the best thing smokin' was a rematch between the two Marquez-Vasquez-esque......which could end up a triology.
Quintana is the new kid on the block. Just like Margarito and Williams before him, he will have trouble landing the big fights. Williams was willing to give Margarito a rematch after Antonio lost his title. Quintana (if no big fight pops up) should be willing to give Williams an oppritunity since he got one. It's not like Williams had to fight him.
Besides if Quintana expects to get a rematch against Cotto after that embarassing loss, then he should be willing to give Williams a rematch. That's just how it works.
and i'd pick quintana. i'd pick him over mayweather too...Comment

Williams needs to just move up in weight already. He should be fighting at 154 or 160, he walked into the ring tonight at 164 lbs. If Paul had one punch power that would be extremely dangerous for a true WW to fight a MW.Comment
