THE RING: "Our pound-for-pound list is based entirely on opinion"

Being a champion in a weight class other than HW is like being the fastest overweight sprinter. "I can outrun anyone, except the thin guys who are in good shape."See, that is what you don't understand, in that sense P4P is a fraud , an intentional misrepresantation at it's brightest.
How can you consider yourself a best fighter in the world if there is a whole bunch of people that can kick your ass?
Are you gonna use the P4P, which is nothing more then just an ambigious mental exercise, a playground for imagination and nothing more.
From legal and logical standpoint(and you can apply any logical system to this) it is just laughable.Comment

It is a way of gathering everyones unbeaten or awesome records in their respective class to determine who is the best in their own division with reflection to the other best in the sport. Of course you can't say a pacquaio would WIN against a heavyweight but for his weight class he is recognized as the best from his record and so a rookie middleweight who could kill him isn't on there because they havn't earned it. It is all about opinions though.See, that is what you don't understand, in that sense P4P is a fraud , an intentional misrepresantation at it's brightest.

See, you are taking about a completely different thing -- the achievement base.It is a way of gathering everyones unbeaten or awesome records in their respective class to determine who is the best in their own division with reflection to the other best in the sport. We are talking about what would actually happen in a real life. Moreover, the hype that surrounds many fighters due to a P4P ranking would not exist(and conventionally speaking they would not be as highly regarded) if P4P did not exist.
People need a reality check, many of the fighters that they hype would not be nearly as good(not in the fighting sense, but in how we perceive them) if p4p did not exist.
And we would not hear rubbish, oh but Pacquiao ****s on David Banks or Mikkel Kessler, P4P sense.
Because he does not, either of these guys would smack him into the ring canvas.Comment

Yeah I have misunderstood ya a bit there pal. I thought you meant that mor eheavyweights should be in there because they can knock a featherweight ******.
But, yeah it seems like it is a hype tool and used of for just casual fans of the sport who want to know who are the best. It will never hold much weight in my eyes as everyones top 10 differs to everyone elses. Its all based on opinions ir your favourite fighters etc. The P4P rankings will be biased whoever compiles them.Comment
