Ricky Hatton Running Scared Of Junior Witter?

By Brent Matteo Alderson - Before you can conquer the world you have to conquer your own region first. It’s just part of the natural progression of things. Oscar De La Hoya conquered Los Angeles by taking out Rafael Ruelas and Genaro Hernandez before he began his assault on Mexico’s best. Before he could become champion, Marvin Hagler had to prove himself in Philly by taking on the likes of Willie the Worm Monroe, Cyclone Art and Baaad Benny Briscoe.

I really think Hatton is afraid of Witter..... Because if he really hate the guy, he would want to punish him... And fighting in the ring is his opportunity to do that~~~

Hatton's reason is why f**k would he give Witter his biggest paycheck...
But then, he's the one that can dictate the purse split!!!
    Hatton could negotiate 80/20 sharing!!!

    I think Hatton is chicken...

The "biggest payday" excuse wore thin about 2 years ago and even staunch Hatton supporters now want this fight to happen. There's now a good chance it might materialise in the next 12 - 18 months as Hatton has hinted a few times that he's considered retirement in less than 2 years time so it's not impossible that Junior Witter might be Hatton's last ever fight.

witter is bent on fighting hatton ever since but hatton refuse for reasons known only to him. i hate to say that ricky is afraid of witter because ricky, in my humble opinion, is way better than witter. what i can't understand is the continuous refusal of hatton to fight witter. i remember in the 80's when julio cesar chavez and hector camacho were in their best. the fans wanted a chavez-camacho fight but, if my memory serves right, camacho seems not interested to fight chavez. camacho went up to a weight heavier and chavez followed. the time for the two two fight finally come. julio cesar chavez defeated camacho in an easy fashion. the reason maybe why hatton continuously refused to fight witter is that he (hatton) feels he cannot win against witter.

            Hatton should fight Witter.

Is Witter a big enough name in America?

It will be a massive shame if Hatton fights some nobody and avoids a big domestic showdown with his rival.

The fight would be good for boxing and it looks really bad on Hatton that hes not taking it.

I think he believes Witter is truly dangerous.

of course witter is dangerous.... he's a slick switch hitter who looks to counter and he can punch. The way ricky comes in you could say he'd be tailor made for Witter

Anyone who has seen Ricky's fight with Eamon Magee will see what could happen, and Witter hits harder than magee. Im not saying witter definitely wins this fight, but anyone suggesting witter is a nobody and doesn't stand a chance doesn't know boxing or hasn't seen enough of him

                    out of excuses Hatton

This has turned out to be the biggest runner by any british boxer in the history of the sport. It seems that Ricky is totally uncomfortable each and every time witters name is mentioned and this sort of makes me think that if ever this fight is made Ricky could be beaten before the first bell.
Having listened to Ricky winding on about himself fighting the best and not affraid of anyone, again we see this mental block appair when Junior is mentioned.
You would think that Ricky would be bursting at the seems to get at him, beat him and have no doubters but this isn't the case.We know that this sport is about making money and Ricky earned loads fighting Mayweather and would also earn handsomely with Witter but I now like many get the feeling that Ricky has turned business man complete and proberley realizers this would be his final payday!
