Example: Tito Trinidad.
its funny how before these fights its not least resistance... i remember people saying floyd cant handle baldomirs power, zab judahs speed, arturro gattis chin, ricky hattons aggressiveness, oscars left hook, Corrales Height, Castillo's Pressure, Hernandez's Experience....

then when he beats them... there all bums.... like W. T. F.

Im sorry, but i dont recall ANYONE predicting a win for Baldomir in that fight! There were probably a few haters who were hoping that Baldo beat him, but we all knew how that fight was going to turn out.

So Mayweather wanted Spinks, a guy that Judah had stopped the year before, right after beating Judah himself. Maybe logic caught up to him there and he decided Baldy was an easier fight that made more sense. And $ense.
He used Spinks for leverage against Baldomir...that is all that was.

Folk didn't necessarily think that Floyd would lose, but Baldomir was suggested to be some big test and his toughest fight (mainly beause of his size and durabilty). many people, including the HBO commentators pre fight thought Baldomir would walk thru his punches and wear Floyd's body down like he did to Judah.

there is going to be a spin for every fight. They have to market it so audiences have a reason to pay those ppv fees. B-hop isn't supposed to be able to handle Calzaghe's workload, and Calzaghe isn't supposed to handle B-hops clever tactics and ability to stifle opponents. The fact is one of them is gonna lose the fight. Promotion and the media do this for every fight not just Mayweather. There not gonna promote a fight by saying Mayweather is too slick for a plodding Baldomir in a fight buildup, that wouldn't make any money.

I guess that's just your opinion then, and i respect it. I realize that Margarito isnt a highly skilled boxer, but he has other tools to give Floyd hell for 12 rounds. He has a very high punch output(100punches per round), unlike Baldomir. He has power and a granite chin. He also has the stamina to go a full 12, while picking up momentum as the fight goes into deep water. Floyd likes to rely on his opponents getting tired in the late rounds. He knows that wont happen with Margarito. Lastly, Margarito isnt like Judah. He doesnt get discouraged when he gets hit. He comes back harder instead. Floyd know's all of this, and that's why he has not, and will not face Margo.

but joes workload is good... and bhops tactics are good

floyd is too slick... baldomir does have more power and an iron chin...

so when the winner wins... does that mean the loser sucks? or just that winner is better?

I agree with Kellerman about none of these guys creating demand for a fight. I just would like to see Mayweather be a more active champion. Though I seriously doubt Mayweather cares about what belt he has or doesn't have at this stage of his career.
The question is whether anybody DEMANDED the fight! Nobody did! Use some plain and basic common sense, will ya?
