I think he will be considered the best british fighter of this era aside from Lennox Lewis.

so Kessler,Lacy,Eubank,Woodhall,Brewer,Reid,Mitchell,Veit,Bika,David Starie,Omar Sheika, plus Hopkins,Tarver/Woods,RJJ, and Dawson

...........I think if he ended up with that he is an all time great. 6 career defining wins, maybe not RJJ, plus retiring an undefeated two world champion, and the most dominant super middleweight which will most likely be of all time.

Has to be an all time great doesn't he?

Believe what, you telling me those guys are not all time greats but Joe Calzaghe is?

What fight convinced you of that, Lacy, Kessler, Kabery Salem, or Tocker Pudwill?

Tocker Pudwill! most hilarious fight of all time.

In fairness he was meant to face Thomas Tate but he pulled out.

I like calzaghe, but **** me, i do see flaws in the guy, its like when people say Mayweather cant be beat, when i see Forrest and Williams giving him serious issues, same with calzaghe, you cant make statements of GOAT and garbage like that till he steps up in class, and he is doing that against hopkins, lets wait for the performance. It all very well looking good against sub-par opposition but its a different ball game when you fight real world class, i watched Nassem Hamed last night, same kinda thing, guy was fighting average guys and people were calling him a great, according to HBO 28/38 writers picked him over Barrera, you know what happened there.

rjj is the only current atg on your list.

toney might be if he leaves the hw division now and gets in that cruiser mix.
and goes on a real tear.

maywether could be if he starts taking real fights soon.

oscar atg, hardly. lost to a jr welter. and what "elite" fighter did he beat in their prime?

Sorry just to confirm, James toney is not an all time great?........

he knocked out what many people considered the p4p number one at 22 years old.

Mayweather is not an all time great......

Please dont make me have to compare De La Hoya's boxing resume to Joe calzaghe's, one guys best win is Kessler, the other consistently fought the best of his era.

Wins over Kessler, Hopkins and Pavlik in a row two against prime undefeated guys of a similar size, he claims it easy over Floyd.

Floyd needs to clean up 147 then he become a modern great until then he is mr reward v risk.
