Hopkins was still capable but Taylor just was hungrier. That's why you see Hopkins still beating top guys, just not young guys.
If u ask me,Cotto has taken the same amount of punishment,Hatton has never been in a war as brutal as Cotto-Torres,nor a brutal fight like Judah-Cotto,and the first 9 rounds of Cotto-Mosley was war too

Hatton early in his career was a clever pressure boxer, had good footwork etc,he has never been in any REAL wars besides getting cut badly and taking shots from Tyszu,Cotto on the other hand has been in wars whilst having weight problems,so i dont see the difference,if anything,Hattons drinking has an effect on his career

Cotto's toughest tests were a lot harder then Hatton's. Hatton fought Kostya Tszyu, while Cotto has fought Mosley and Judah. There really isn't that big of a difference between Hatton and Cotto in age. Hatton was known as the man at 140 and decided to come up. He wasn't that much smaller as everyone made him out to be. People just underestimated Floyd Mayweather. It's hard to say that since he was the favorite, but not anyone really expected him to win by knockout. TKO on cuts maybe, but not knockout. No one expected him to fight Hatton's fight and then beat him at it.

And Taylor had natural athletiscm on his side. That's the reason why he won. He had the speed to be more agressive. It's not like he was hungrier. If he was hungrier he would have pushed himself to knockout Spinks. Taylor's natural gifts helped him a lot and he still didn't look good while beating him.

Hatton has taken shots from Collazo, Tszyu, Mayweather, Magee, Thaxton, Maussa, and got cut several times in some of those fights nose, lips, eyes, forehead, etc. he also got hurt to the body against Urango

Id rather take shots from feather fisted Collazo,Magee,Thaxton and Maussa ( who also fought Cotto ) Then Mosley,Torres and Judah, and Hatton didnt take NEARLY as much shots as Cotto did in these fights

Even Tszyu after all the surgery and lay offs didnt have the same pop in his hands

And i dont think Floyd hits as hard as Judah or Mosley with one punch at welterweight

His prime would be around 27-28 at 140, too bad he wasted fighting nobodies.

Yeah but that turnbuckle was a motherf$%#er.

You can call Collazo feather fisted all you want, but he definitely had Hatton on ***** street and punished him in that fight.

Tszyu still had more pop than Torres or Judah at that point. Hatton also took some hard shots from Urango.

But the most damage to Hatton's body have probably come from heavy drinking and ballooning up in weight inbetween fights.

I think he is a little past his best, only because he keeps saying his body isnt holding up anymore.

I think that was all just hype for the Hatton fight, to be honest, to try and make people believe Ricky really had a chance, so they'd pay for the fight.

Yea he goes to physical therapy weekly for various aches and pains on each of his bodyparts to hype his fight? I swear you say some of the most ignorant **** I have ever heard.

Yeah, Floyd's hands really looked screwed in the Hatton fight.

He didn't land any punches with any power with both hands, did he?

They didn't have to do anything to hype this fight, correct? I mean, there wasn't even a need for a 24/7 was there?
