Tarver in his prime, i go with him over calzaghe, Tarver now, too slugish not enough workrate. Hes not being serious, he just knows how to promote a fight thats all.
I was never impressed with Tarver even in his so called *Prime*. He was lucky against Jones in the 2nd fight, and he basically beat a gun shy Jones in the 3rd fight by basically landing a few more punches here and there, Calzaghe would have slaughtered Tarver.

I agree, but he is suggesting becoming the 1st guy to legitmately beat roy jones and to win a olympic medal is not an achievement, and that is just ******ed.

Oh its an achievement i never denied that, but i think what he is pointing out is just because someone has good amateur career doesn't make them great fighters or etc. Just like Tarver beating the once great Roy Jones doesn't make Tarver a great fighter for the simple reason Jones was an old man and we all know Jones would have destroyed Tarver in his prime, hell even Sugar Ray Robinson lost to an average British fighter Terry Downes, but that doesn't make Downes a great fighter just because he beat an old and once great Sugar Ray Robinson. Like i said earlier i never thought Tarver was that good. He beat a very cautious Jones by basically just out landing him by about 7 punches a round by landing a weak jab, it was so frustrating to watch because Jones in his prime would of countered that lazy jab of Tarver's with a right hand over the top, like he did with all his other opponents, but it wasn't to be i guess. I really don't think Tarver had the tools to slow down and frustrate someone like Calzaghe.
