tszyu, castillo were because hatton wanted the huge payday with mayweather and that was the route to do it and besides, they were past their primes. hatton either fights ppl who are bums or big paydays. Witter is not a big payday and he certainly isn't a bum. I mean, how else you explain fights with bums like Olieviera, Vilches, Stewart, Tackio, Rios..... when you have a guy like witter who is holding a title. why avoid? scared is the only explanation.

how can you call hatton a ducker, he has fought 2 men who people have considered the best pound for pound fighters in the world at that time, his last 6 or so fights have been for world titles.

Its not the money excuse cuz he fought far less opposition and money draws. Its not world title shots excuse cuz witter has a world title. its not anything but the fact that he is scared. and warren use to be the promoter for both fighters so he would stand to make more money if both got in the ring cuz he would get money from 2 sides. but as witter said "Warren told me, ricky's my boy, I'm looking after him. I'm getting him some bums to beat so he could hold on to those world titles."

The bottom line is, Witter never brought anything to the table except a boring style and no fans until now. It's just a fact.

He takes rounds off, stagnates, poses and fades spectacularly in the late rounds.

I do agree if Hatton doesn't fight Witter over the course of the year (THIS YEAR) he is ducking him. Which is ridiculous because he would beat him comfortably on the cards IMO.

I give him a pass for not fighting Witter until now, he was some sort of a risk,( he has KO power) for zero reward. But He has no fans, and is involved in howlers.

My opinion of it is that RIcky has left it too late. He should have taken on Witter years back, when he had less of a status and perhaps less pressure. Ever since then his status and reputation has built up more and more. If he loses this fight, which if taken years ago would have been nothing he pretty much loses everything he has built up.

Physcologically Witter has him, at the time I think Ricky had no gripe fighting him, but now he's insecure and somewhat lacking confidence.
