Lewis' record encompasses virtually the entire heavyweight division of the 90s aside from Bowe who avoided him like the plague.

You can pull anyones record to pieces.
Lewis was hurt in the last 30 seconds of the 1st round against Briggs, he almost went down from a left hook but the ropes kept him up, lucky for Lewis that was the end of the round, he also took another big shot in the 2nd round and was wobbled again He was hurt at least 4 times. And i can't believe you don't think Holyfield vs Lewis 2 wasn't close ?? i think Holyfield done enough to nick the decision he done much better in the rematch, and i never denied Lewis didn't beat all the top Heavyweights, but that still doesn't my opinion that most of Lewis's best wins were against past there prime fighters.

No, he's somewhere between 15 and 25. Remember, he was knocked out cold by a crackhead and by a B fighter.

Lewis has only 41 wins and 32 KOs (as compared to Foreman's 76 wins and 68 KOs, for example). Wlad already has 49 wins and 44 KOs. Lewis fought some good opponents, but fought his share of clubfighters too.

It depends on how you look at it i could pull out 10 Heavyweights now.

          Gene Tunney
          Muhammad Ali
          Larry Holmes
          George Foreman
          Sonny Liston
          Jack Dempsey
          Jack Johnson
          Joe Louis
          Ezzard Charles
          Evander Holyfield

And history buffs could make an argument that all 10 of these fighters are rated higher, but IMO i think Lewis deserves a spot in the top 10.

Lewis was the best fighter of his generation, you could argue that he didn't fight some fighters in their primes but the facts are that he beat all of the fighters around him. That is fact.

He is the last recognised true Heavyweight Champion and is one of the greatest of all time (certainly top 10).

Therefore how can he not be in the HOF?

All those 49 wins and Chris Byrd is the best of the bunch.

It's about quality not quantity son! Not since '95 did lewis fight a poor fighter.

I would say the Vitali fight had about as much action and drama as you can ask for in a "super" heavyweight fight.

That was probably his most exciting fight.

Rahman II, Mercer, Holyfield I, Briggs, Grant? Some good HW action there, not the tripe that's served up in this era.
