I like Hatton but he should forget about this rematch because it is never going to happen.

He has the best shot to beat Mayweather. He's the best welterweight. Unfortunately, for alot of guys here the boxing matches aren't fought on forums... Whether or not I think Mayweather can beat Cotto doesn't make it any less appalling that Mayweather won'f fight Cotto.

Fighters will eventually break down a fighter... until they solve the puzzle... there doingit right now on floyd... no ones cracked the puzzle yet, but there trying... look at oscar when he went to see hatton training... telling him about when floyd does this... hes open right here.. there talking about it, there studying tapes there trying to break him down.. and it hasnt happened yet... but it will...

As they start breaking down how you fight... your getting older and slower every day... history has shown us this.. and it WILL continue to repeat itself.

With that said, God Bless Rocky Marciano.
Some of that may be true, but age is a huge factor in the sport. Especially if you are the type of guy that lives/dies off speed and being elusive. There is no way a fighter is as fast at 27 as he would be at 35. You WILL lose a step. Roy was gifted-ly fast, reminds of Deion Sanders in football. Roy had amazing hand speed for any fighter regardless of size/weight. But he was also very flawed, but being so fast more than made up for it. Once the speed declined, those flaws became more prevelant. Couple that with the fact that Roy had just lost 50 lbs of MUSCLE, not just weight. For him to even show up to fight Tarver was a major accmoplishment IMO.

A hatton vs mayweather 2 would be a lot more fun than the sparring match de la hoya and mayweather are going to have september, but mayweather needs to give Cotto a chance to

                50lbs of muscle?

He weighed 193 to fight Ruiz and then around 174 to fight Tarver which he won on points.

He was knocked out a year after losing about 19-20lbs of weight.

That isn`t a drastic weight loss and nowhere near 50lbs of muscle. MOst of it probably wasn`t muscle.

no it wasnt 50 pounds... but it WAS all muscle... if you could please point out where on his body he has fat that would be great... the dude has 2% body fat...

the first fight was 8 months later not a year, and the rematch was 6 months later... and he didnt try to lose the weight til he entered his 8 week training camp.. thats what killed him.

it is but your aloud to be underweight to fight just not OVEr the limit.. he wanted to stay lighter to keep his speed advantage in that fight.
