Thread starter: You said yourself that Floyd defended against his madatories at 130, right?

Which weight class has he stayed in for a long enough period of time to get stripped in? He has spent less than 2 years in each (or at least something pretty damn close to that)... Margarito got almost 2 years to defend his title against Paul Williams.

If he doesn't fight a mandatory sometime down the line, he should be stripped though.

Second to answer your question. Suliman knows that Floyd will vacate the title if he pushes mandatories in his face. He already vacated the IBF title after beating Judah. The reason Suliman is doing that is because he is greedy and wants a peace of the sanctioning fees money that comes in Floyd fights which are higher then most other fighters.

If it makes money, it makes sense.
SO WHAT????? DD it dont matter if the Mandatory is "crap" or not .. They are the Mandatory fight...(Do I need to define mandatory for you?)

Do you think I enjoyed seeing Wlad Fight ray Austin??? did anyone??? NO.. but this is life...

Floyd should not get a free pass..
Jose Suliman is perhaps the worst Commisioner EVER.. and he is Up for review and will most likely lose his job.. That should tell you a few things about he conducts business...

and Floyd is a ***** coward who wont fight those who make him work.. and possibly land a meaningful punch..

Hatton never had a chance.. You know it.. I know it.. Hatton knew it.. And Floyd Mayweather especialy knew it.. the only person who didn't.. was Hattons' trainer (whose name escapes at the moment)

How many ALTS do you need to say the same things anyways..???

        Mayweather dropping the WBC belt

Just found out from a website that confidentially reports boxing that after Sept 17, Al Haymon (the manager for Mayweather & Berto) said that Mayweather will vacate the WBC belt and allow Berto to fight for the vacant strip against the next in line contender which is Miguel Rodriguez.

The same clowns trying to defend Mayweather on what I just said are the same clowns that jumped all over Margarito when he had his mandatory with Williams. Your all Floyd groupies
Are you seriously trying to justify Floyd fighting mandatories who have no business being in the ring with him? Look at Cotto he has to fight a mandatory who barely anyone has ever heard of, it's a waste of time.

If you dont fight your mandatory within a year.. you Lose the belt.. WHY does Floyd still have the title????

Maybe the mandatory is a bum.. Like I mentioned Ray Austin... But you fight them... or you lose your belt..

He won the WW WBC Title on Nov 4th 2006.. It has now been almost 16 months and he has fought 2 Voluntary fights.. and has No title defence lined up in the near future.. except ANOTHER voluntary fight in Sept 2008 or almost 2 years after winning the title..

This is why I am so Glad to hear the WBC Board of directors has put Jose Sulliman up for Review.. and I hope he loses his Job...

I do get what you are saying though .THe rules should be enforced for EVERY fighter and if Floyd doesn't go by these rules he should be stripped. However what's the point of discrediting Floyd's choice of opponents when you could have just made your point while bypassing the backlash you were going to recieve.

Thats very funny Mayweather's the only fighter in the world that is in a neverending voluntary stage. When was the last time Floyd fought a mandatory. It's easy to always look good and win when you always get to pick who you fight.
Man this is comical. First of all, who other than belt holders like Miguel Cotto and Paul Williams might you want to see Floyd fight at 147? The WBC can't make other belt holders Floyd's mandatory. If they were to enforce a mandatory right now it'd be Andre Berto. Berto wouldn't give Floyd more of a test than DLH. If Berto passed on the opportunity it'd be Miguel Rodriguez. The third option would be Margarito, who really should have gone the mandatory route as soon as Floyd entered the division, but I think he's looking to get at Floyd through Cotto now.

Cash cows don't have to fight mandatories though. It was that way with Trinidad and DLH. It's going to be that way with Floyd from now on. You're getting yourself worked up for no good reason. I only really want to see the unification fights. I think most fans feel the same way.

The only way that will happen is if cotto and williams get more big wins to attract money. remember floyd is more about that dollar than anything. he will not take that big of risk for a little bit of cash. it sucks because i dont feel thats the way a true champion should determine his opponents. i bet that if cotto and williams win both their fights (which they will) fight each other and unify most likely floyd will consider fighting the winner next year.
