This was more a case of CHAMBERS losing the fight, then POVETKIN winning it.

This is a PERFECT PROOF that the better fighter doesnt always win.
Some fighters need that first loss to really open their eyes and turn things around. I have a feeling this will Open Chambers eyes much like the Vargas fight did for Winky.

I was impressed by Chambers speed once again. Probably the fastest hands in the heavies, and without a doubt the most accurate hands in the heavies. When he let those hands go, he couldn't miss if he tried. And they were beautifully times shots that sent Povetkins head flailing.

His timing kind reminds me of Ivan Calderon. He hits you at the moment when you don't want to get hit.

Yeah I thought both were good and there was no clinching going on. Povetkin just outworked Chambers, who didnt throw for some reason.

Since neither of them seem to have power I cant see them challenging Wlad though.

Good post. Povetkin has come along very well, and lets not forget Chambers has the tightest defense in the heavyweight division. I liked the way Sasha adapted to Chambers by the 10th round, and became the first fighter in 31 pro fights to penetrate his defense. And Sasha's stamina held up perfectly, his work rate was amazing in the 11th and 12th rounds.

But he's not ready for Wlad - he will eat a lot of hard left jabs for several rounds and then get brutally KOed.

I agree his is an underachiever, and hopefully his first loss will instill a better work ethic in him, because he has all the skill in the world, and the tightest defense in the heavyweight division.
If Chambers thought he was winning rounds, he'd have been more enthusiastic when the bell rung. His body posture suggested that he knew he was blowing it, and his inactivity says he had come to terms with not being destined to win the fight.

He is young at 25, well experienced with 31 fights, but seems to have a Dominick Guinn-like block on breaking through the ceiling and making it happen for himself.

dude you know crap about boxing..

CHambers has beatin some decent fighters. Povektin was in his 15TH pro fight and fought til the very end. taking on an undefeated Chambers was a risky move and he won by UD. just go to bed little kid.

I didn't see the ref have to break one clinch in that fight. What's not to like about that?

Chambers was frustrating the piss outta me. He could have easily taken this fight from Povetkin. Like a few others have said, I'm not impressed with Povetkin and dissappointed in Chambers. He knew what he had to do and didn't do it. I really hope Chambers goes home and does some soul searching to see if he wants to even box anymore. Hopefully he gets himself together and continues because he could be really good.

That is deceptive. Povetkin had a very long amateur career. He is 28 years old.
He is green in the way Tarver was green.

Someone should have given him a box of Ali tapes when he was younger. Blessed with such incredible hand speed and he walks forward flat footed with his gaurd up.
