Povetkin is nothing special and Chambers is an underachiever

When Buddy McGirt tells a fighter "You're making this harder on yourself than it has to be," he's telling his fighter "You think you're listening, but you're not." Chambers seems almost lost as to what he's supposed to be doing, because in reality he could've won this fight easily.

I'm not at all impressed with Povetkin, he'd be demolished early by Wladimir. Against a smallish heavyweight, he can get away with his mistakes. Wladimir is 245 pounds. That's a different ballpark.

Anyways, I hope Chambers can get his stuff together. His personality is very like his fighting style, relaxed, laidback, soft spoken. Some guys have this fear of success and I think that's Chambers' issue. McGirt and Chambers Sr need to sit Chambers down when they get back to America and ask him if he really wants to fight because I'm not sure he wants to.

You do know that Povetkin wasn't 100% right? He was sick with the flu and he still won a clear cut UD.

Povetkin hasn't even entered his prime yet, he is still green and he only has 15 pro fights. Povetkin will only get better and improve with more experience.

Povetkin's defence isn't very good though, he is susceptible to jabs and right hands, that is a recipe for disaster against a monster like Wladimir Klitschko.

Both fighters are nothing special and will be nothing big in the HW Division.

Seems a little harsh on Povetkin. This was only his 15th pro fight. I like the way he fought the 12th round like he needed it to win. However I do agree he has no business in with Klitschko yet.

...Yeah, Pov is a dead man walking against Wlady for sure. Chambers is a frustrating opponent but he still could have done more against him.

                I have a different perspective.

I think Chambers feels he was winning rounds. He did not feel the need to do more. He thought Buddy was simply trying to motivate him.

I agree his is an underachiever, and hopefully his first loss will instill a better work ethic in him, because he has all the skill in the world, and the tightest defense in the heavyweight division.

                  i agree 100%

This was more a case of CHAMBERS losing the fight, then POVETKIN winning it.

This is a PERFECT PROOF that the better fighter doesnt always win.

Regardless of Povetkin's health status, I've seen the same issues earlier in his career. He's sloppy, drops his hands, isn't very quick, doesn't throw straight enough punches, and didn't react very positively to the light-fisted Chambers' punches. If you're swelling up and getting your head knocked back by Chambers, you're in trouble.
