Ok, Canadian. I forgot you travel throughout the US and know alot about the state of amateur boxing in this country.
Ive said this before and I will say this again.
Boxing aint the only ****ing sport in (Eastern) Europe.
You have higher chances of making a basketball team and playing on a Euro level and making much more then your average boxer.
You can play soccer and make 20x more then your average boxer.
You can play ****ing handball and make more money.
I bet any money there are more boxing gyms in NYC then in 3 of Ukraines biggest cities.
So take your "our athletes play football" and "our gyms are closed" and shove it up your ass.
Yall make it seem like ukraine is full of boxing gyms and we dont have any other sports in the country lolComment

Please that has everything to do with it. I don't even care what race or nationality the heavyweight champs are, but it's obvious why America offers hardly any heavyweight talent anymore.Excuses,Excuses,Excuses....SHUT THE **** UP
I am sick of hearing Americans use the football excuse, football has been around for a long time so stop with that bull**** excuse. Don't even get me started on basketball players, those guys are punk ass ******* and they can't fight for ****.
Eastern Europeans will be dominating for a very long time, get used to it.Comment

It just seems to me the Eastern european heavies at this point work harder and want it more when it's fight night. Today was a perfect example Povetkin wanted it and showed it with his work rate and even in the last round he threw way more punches than Chambers and he didn't need to.Comment

I dont live in Ukraine, so Im not going to pretend my voice is fact or anything, but Im going to assume that your boxing is more a part of your culture than in the US. Im only assuming that because Vitali is supposedly very popular in Ukraine. He even ran for Mayor of Kiev, even if he lost. Also I remember the Klitschko brothers doing a commercial for a candy bar or something, but that may have been a German commercial, I cant remember positively.Ive said this before and I will say this again.

But one thing is for sure, right now in the US, you never see boxers in commercials, no boxer is universally well known through the country, and as far as I know there have been no attempts whatsoever that a boxer had the public support to think he could be elected to a major political position.
And even if yall dont have a ton of boxing gyms, a lot of the time Eastern Europeans go over to Germany and other areas that have a lot of gyms.
and boxing in the US is more or less discouraged, for the reasons I dont feel like rewriting but are in my last post in this topic.
but a lot of this is guesswork, so correct me if I'm wrong.Comment

My Eastern European brothers are tougher and stronger...just admit it, you Americans have gone soft.Comment

No dude, I simply think that the division isn't really worth watching. Sorry if you have sand in your vagina over my statement.Comment

I agree. Back in the day Pro football wasn't that popular in the US and really didn't become huge until after a few Super Bowls and Monday night football was established. Actually College Football was more popular. Back then Boxing was big in the mainstream and now that time has passed by, NFL has become the most popular sport in the US while unfortunately now Boxing isn't a mainstream sport. A lot of those big talented and athletic guys go to football now because it's the sport that's always shown on Tv and sportscenter. I mean now a days during football season there's games on almost everday with college and the NFL. Plus there are average players in the NFL that make over a million dollars per year while in boxing you have to be pretty special to make million dollar pay days. I personally don't care as well if no americans are HW champs, I just like boxing, but like Antonio said it's pretty obvious where all the athletic big men go and that's to the NFL.Comment

That's exactly what it is. Kids are influenced a lot by whats on TV or whats popular. Boxing isn't "cool" anymore, at least not in America.I agree.
