To Gavinz, **** you and your red karma. I never understood that ***** **** anyway.
And don't worry **** puppet, I WON't be watching any heavyweight bouts for quite a while. Not when there is Taylor-Pavlik 2, Vasquez-Marquez 3, Pac-Man-JMM2, and Calzaghe-B-Hop coming up.
Have a ****ing
The Heavyweight division just ain't what it used to be.

question to wlad owns...
how many eastern euro heavyweights would make a top 20 all time list?
2 at most.... (one actually but for arguments sake i'll give you 2)
you can't get credit for taking over if ther's no challenge
america still has almost 95% of the greatest heavyweights ever...
wlad is a good fighter,
the rest of them are boring mediocre fighters... you can't tell me that you're amazed by sultan, povetkin, chageav etc
no one is discriminating against eastern euro fighters, but its obvious to see that most of these guys wouldn't cope very well against any great fighters of the past....Comment

Don't worry, I'll just put you on ignore so I don't have to read your posts which are either crying about the HW division or attacking another poster. Calzaghe/Hopkins, yeah, there's a really exciting fight. To Gavinz, **** you and your red karma. I never understood that ***** **** anyway.

I agree with your comments.
In the early 80's I knew a sizeable number of teenagers that were actively involved in boxing and a handful were interested in pursuing careers as professional boxers. These were poor kids from the inner city that depended upon gyms like the PAL, Boys Club of America, and other community based boxing gyms that were affordable for people living in low income households. All of these gyms are now closed with a few PAL's scattered here and there that still offer boxing classes to young people.
Within the last 10 - 15 years every so often I run into a young person that is studying boxing. None of the ones I meet have plans of becoming professional boxers. Times have changed and not only are young people less active today but most have no interest in amateur boxing never mind pursuing a career as a professional boxer. I have noticed this shift occurring as more community based boxing gyms have closed. The young people that are physically active are generally interested in playing basketball, football, or sometimes baseball. Ask the average kid if he wants to study boxing nowadays and he will look at you as if you are crazy.

Exactly boxing isn't cool anymore to the young kids here in the U.S. Plus our society is all about what's new and what's the in thing and usually the youth are taught what's new and in from television. Football is shown on tv and sportscenter all the time, even during the offseason with the draft and player troubles. Football is what's in here in the U.S. and unfortunately boxing is not.Comment
