"the most beautiful displays of boxing brilliance that i have ever seen." Is that a joke?
You want me to bump them? But then again your the biased one, slicksouth paw. I bet you love Spinks and how he runs from a fight.

Or maybe that fatass shot Vargas?
I think Mayorga got pretty lucky to catch Forrest during his injury, and even more lucky that Vernon is a dumbass, and refused to get surgery for that shoulder until after he lost.
Didnt you make a thread with a poll to prove me wrong and got owned?
Mayorga Knocked his ass out and beat him AGAIN.

Spinks out boxed him and the decision was not controveral at all. Never did Mayorga get his game plan going, dictate the pace, or adjust to the elusive Cory Spinks. Spinks controlled the action and had Mayorga fighting his fight. It was simply a masterclass by Spinks. Spinks beat Mayorga fair and square.

Scoring aside, the injury is the issue right now.
If you don't believe it, I don't know what to tell you, because Vernon has had 3-5 surgeries on it in the past few years. I don't have the exact figure, because I can't remember which fight Emanuel Steward said it in, but it was something to the effect that he had had as many surgeries as he had had fights in a 2-3 year span.

I do know that the ESPNClassic announcers said that they would be shocked if Spinks didn't win, because they thought that he not only won the fight, but he dominated it.

Also, Spinks does not ''run'' from any fight and i just laugh when people say ridiculous things like that. There is a difference between running and boxing smart. Spinks is one of the best pure boxers i have ever watched. Brilliant handspeed, counterpunching and footwork.

Spinks lost, even Roberto Duran said Mayorga had to fight 5 people that night. Three judges, the ref and spinks.
So many different things with that fight from the uncalled for point the ref took to about 5 different times Spinks slipped. Check what the people had to say.

Spinks is a GREAT defensive fighter and is very underrated due to the fact that he's not the most exciting fighter in the world. But, this thread wasn't really about that.
